[MOD]Sattelite range and best buy universal

Here is my little contribution to this game

Advanced Sattelite increased range to cover entire sector.
Best buy/sell locator increased radius range to 25 jumps.
Install as fake patch in folder addon2.
If you last cat file is 05.cat and dat file is 05.dat then rename my mod files as 06.cat and 06.dat.

Nice, thanks! Question, though - is it possible to have one but not the other? I like the BB increased range, but souping up the satellites also seems a bit much for my taste.

Has something changed with a game update?

I followed instructions and tried both versions but range does not go above 5.

This mod provides an adjusted globals.txt file. If you already have one lying in the loose folder structure, this will take precedence over the one in the mod.

Yes, that would be it. I have one such file ( viewtopic.php?f=201&t=438356&start=30#p5093995 ) in the types folder.

So, correct me if I am wrong, I should extract the global.txt from this mod and then include the changes from Alt3rn1ty's post. Save and deposit in the types folder in the addon2 directory.

If so, can use notepad to make such edit?

while doing the edit I have noticed the following

do I need to edit this line too to fully remove the effects of dynamic relations?

if you have disabled the others, then those wont make a difference.

Allow corp and add/remove the corporations from dynamic relations, and min cap is the low level that is effected (ie anything below that value doesn't trigger any dynamic changes)

Hi, just to make sure that you are in the same predicament as I was:

I wanted to use this mod together with the dynamic relations fix as in the link in my last post.

What I did:

- I extracted the global.pck file from the cat archive in this mod
- Renamed it to global.txt
- Copied and pasted the changes from the dynamic relations fix, as shown by Cycrow, in the respective lines in the above renamed file (replacing the original text)
- Made a folder in the game's directory as in ...Steam\steamapps\common\X3 Terran Conflict\addon2\types
- put the edited global.txt file, without repacking it, in the newly created folder.

I will put the content of my file at the end of this, but keep in mind that I chose the version of this mod without the satellite range extension. Also I am really not an expert at this sort of thing so if I made a mistake I apologize for it (take it as a disclaimer) but the good thing is that if it doesn't work you can just delete the file and it never happened. :)

Edit:
Sorry, I should have added. If you want to use my file: make a new text file, call it Global.txt, select all that is in the spoiler tag, paste it into this new file, save and put the edited global.txt into the folder I mentioned above.
