[MOD] UI Modifications

Post by JuyTak » Mon, 17. May 21, 12:22

Hello,

I made some modifications of the interface:
- Tried to remove all the 3D effect (buttons, textbox etc.)
- Changed the color of asteroids from blue to gray
- Changed the color of ships (icons are slightly brighter)
- Changed the boxes of the main menu

It does not mark the game as modified.

Here are some screenshots:

This is my first mod, it's still in WIP but if you're interested here is the link https://easyupload.io/8sbm5r

To install, just copy the dds and tex in the game folder.

Looks interesting, I would try out tonight and look at. :)

You should definitely put your mod in a catalog. Otherwise you get confused with already existing (unpacked) files or you don't even know what to delete to uninstall your mod again.

I need to check again (I can't for the moment) but if I remember correctly it should not mark the game as modified.

Thanks, for the next version I will try to create a catalog. I still want to tweak some parts of the interface. Like the gray bar used to display the amount of goods in a station. But so far I didn't manage to get an acceptable result.

Hi, Maybe you could also have a look at this one.
I don't know if it's just me, but I very often have problems finding the indicator for my target and its not so easy for me to figure out in which direction I have to steer at all.
However, it depends very much on how many objects are currently displayed on the screen and what the background looks like. See the photo:

I quickly tried to change this one but none of the attempts looked good. After a few tries I realized that's because the game automatically rotate this icon depending on the direction of your ship. The problem is that the rotation deforms the icon (size and shape) so that's probably the main reason why it's difficult to see the direction. I don't know if it's possible to obtain an icon that looks good in every direction.

No it does not mark the game as modified. I will edit the first post to add this precision.
I will also upload a new version probably this weekend.
