I have created a cheat package for use with X3FL, which i and other beta testers have used when testing the game.

The cheat scripts use many of the new features of scripting in X3FL, especially the use of the new input system. So these can be used as a good example when you start to script yourself.

:arrow: Installing To install, use the plugin manager to install the spk file.
The package contains scripts for all 3 games, X3TC, X3AP and X3FL. The plugin manager will pick the correct files for the current game directory


:arrow: Using Cheats
  • The cheat scripts are fairly straight forward to use, and is all contained within a single menu. There is a station command available via your stations command console as well as one in your ships command console. Both of this will open the cheats menu.

    The 3rd way is to use the hotkey which you can set in the controls menu.

    :arrow: Cheat Menu
    • When the menu opens up it will have a certain target object. This is either the ship/station you ran the command from, or your current target if using the hotket (if no target, then the playership)

      The first option will switch the current target to any object you select. The 2nd section has all the commands available for the target object. Different options will apear depending on the target.

      the 3rd section is the global scripts, and will also be available.
      the 4th section is to create any objects like ships and stations

Hi,
I'm having some trouble getting this to work.
I installed using the plugin manager (v1.60), the only scripts installed are:
Cheat collection Package 1.70
Community Plugin Configuration 1.60
Cycrow Libraries 1.00
Hotkey Manager 1.21
Ware Manager 1.20

X3TC and AP are clean installs

My issue:
I don't get the option in command consoles to use cheats, there's no hotkey to be assigned.
If I open the plugin configuration menu, there's an entry Cheats -> Cycrow: Cheats 2 -> empy menu

I installed a different script for testing and that showed up in game fine

Also I can't use the plugin manager to start the game, If I click the Run: X3: Farnham's Legacy button, it just closes the manager, I still have to start the game manually through steam

Try saving the game and restarting the game

Unfortunately that didn't help. I even tried starting a new game, saving and then restarting, but it still won't show up.

Then activate the script editor by changing the pilot's name to Thereshallbewings.

You don't need to active the script editor when using the Plugin Manager. You have to set the PM to modified mode, so that the scripts are actually copied to your "scripts" folder and the game is set to modified.

Yes, activating the script editor doesn't help either.
The plugin manager is set to modified mode and correctly adds scripts to the game, as the plugin configuration menu shows up and contains the ware manager and another item i don't recall atm. I do get the modified message when loading or starting a game.
I also tried and used another script with the plugin manager and that worked fine too

I had an identical issue, I installed the cheat menu as an archive (.zip), no luck whatsoever. Out of desperation i removed the archive and installed the .spk directly, it worked first time.

Greetings,

So far the cheat pack works fine aside from some little hiccups. Giving yourself discovery points does nothing, also if you want to give yourself items and use a custom number to add, like instead of increments of 1 you set it to 500, it immediatly resets to 1. Also if you hold the button to left or right it will always move 1 increment and never raise it. Aside from that, the rest seems to work as intended.

Edit: Regarding the Discovery Point thing, I just found out, editing the "set discovery Points" just sets it for the object you use it on, so it was my fault for it not working properly.

Thanks for the tip!
While I was already using the spk version, following this I tried switching to the zip version (same result as before)
But then I tried redownloading the spk, and installed it freshly, now it works
I assume something got corrupted along the way somewhere.

Hi,
I have an update to my situation
The mod works fine, as long as I don't disable it. Once I disable it in the plugin manager it breaks, and I have to reinstall it.
If I switch to vanilla mode and back, it doesn't automatically get reenabled, and if I manually enable it, it is broken again.
So as long as I keep it on Im fine, if I disable it or switch to vanilla I need to reinstall. It isn't much of an issue for me now that I know, just thought I'd let you, and any others with the problem, know.

Same here, with zip install the files are not placed in ~\addon2\scripts or ~\addon2\T. SPK works fine. Manual install should work fine too. Suspect a bug in zip package handling, sorry I didn't troubleshoot it.

Hello there, I have some problems with the Cheat Package. Mainly with the "Create Ship from Menu" feature. Whenever I try to click this option it brings me back to the previous Menu. Creating a Ship, an Asteroid, a Fleet or anything else works correctly except for this. Does anyone else have the same issue?

i forgot to adjust it for FL, and havn't had to time to fix it yet

Wierd!For me everything work well only i cant now use it via Spezial command where cheat option was in AP.
And one day ... one day i will be there ...
And if not... then i will be here ...

It has it's own "Custom" Tab. I personally use a hotkey anyway to try stuff.

Thanks for the package, I mostly use it to get some starting scenarios right as the official custom game start does not allow all ships to be added, and doesn't allow modifications to headquarters either.

However there is one feature missing in it:

when adding blueprints to the headquarter, ONLY the ship blueprints are listed. There is no way to add station blueprints to the HQ with the current version.

I hope that will get added at some time in the future when you have more time for it.

Something I think could be added for FL would be to add station blueprints to the HQ: it's only letting you add ship blueprints at the moment.

Great package - incredibly useful for reducing early game grind. I have one question...I read somewhere that triggering the "Reveal All Sectors" command can cause problems in FL. Is this true, and if so would the "Add Satellites To All Sectors" cause similar problems? Thanks!
