Worked fine at 8am this morning although it does appear to be having trouble now. Seems that the whole site is having trouble as I cant even get to the old link.

Just watched it. Disapointed by the same cockpet from last year but the exterior views are superb as are the ships. I can't wait to fly the new N. The XT one was a cute little thing as was the X² version, although this new one looks scary!

As already mentioned several times the cockpit graphics are placeholders in the version that was videod - going to be all new designs in the actually released game...

I had a feeling that the cockpet was just for testing. That said the M3 cockpet was never ugly.

Completely stunning. Completely.

Hanging above that planet at the end you could have replaced the cockpit with stock NASA shuttle footage and you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Was going to complain about old cockpits etc but glad I read further :D

I might revise my opinion of the teladi M3 now I've seen it in flight.

Getting it at fullspeed 240+ Kb/s :D

I'll edit for some comments :)

@X-Warrior : Over 320 Kb/s yay ^^ nice line bro' :)

[EDIT]

He comes my first impressions :

- The off-voice is kinda ... pissing off so for those who didn't see the video yet, and if you're non-german speaking, just turn the sound off :p
- I think my graphic card is gonna blow ( The general graphic detail, animations and all that stuff seems just like OH-MY-GOOOD !! )
- Now the stations seems to really orbital stations ( at least for some of them )

I know it's not the topic but :
I saw the recommended requirements on news 18 hmmz I should go with average details i guess with my current configuration ( P4 2.8Ghz, 1Go RAM, Radeon 6800 PRO 256mb, and enough space on my drives to get like 10+ installs easy ^^ ). Am I right ?

Damn, that guy speak really fast :P

Well I see... X3 have a lot of Freespace 2 combat and system things...

(I not going to say anything, but there is a few X2 models that are very similar to Freespace 2 models :P)

I see Some of the Freespace 2 implemented, are the better outside view, the offscreen markers for ships. The Arrows on the hud indicating the position of the target, (There are Missile offscreen position markers?) I apear to see one..., and... This dont think so, but the shield is now distribuited in 4 Cuadrants?

Well... for now this look a very good game...

personally..

i didnt see any resemblence to FS2..

only thing that made me even remotely think of FS2 was the targeting arrows at side of screen...

it does look awesome though..

cant wait for release..

That's very good news Shivan[sps], but unless it FLIES like FS2 it's all for naught, no?

Never seen or played Freespace2. However their is an old saying, 'Nothing is new under the sun'.

I'm sure ideas for the spaceships in X come from all over the place and reference sources - accidental and deliberate - that weave in and out of each other like a very, very knotty tapestry.

It always worries me when someone says something like: It looks like this or sounds like that. Everything looks a bit like something, sounds a bit like something, and often smells a bit like something even if we wished it didn't!

If we didn't reference good ideas wherever they come from we would always be at the beginning and progress would be just something you dreamed about while rubbing two damp twigs together.

One thing I don't see people mentioned, was how fast the sector screen was brought up in the video clip. In X2 it takes a few seconds before I can bring it up to select the next target (in the mean time, I was being shot at without being able to dodge or return fire)

(Of course "being fast" is relative, but we can assume that the video is in real time, because Bernd's speech is real time).

'e' selects the nearest enemy and you can use page up/down to cycle through them :)
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell!
