I bought an argon EQD. But it seem to be only able to dock around 10 ships at once. Is there a better EQD with better hanger capacity ?

As far as I know, they're all pretty bad - limited number of ships and almost no item storage capability.

The plots give you the gate HUB, which also stores 10 ships I think, and the player HQ, which has slightly better (item) storage capabilities and the ability to reverse-engineer / manufacture ships. So between those two, I'm not sure how many people even look at EQ docks.

I use TL's to store weapons, shields, and goods.

If it's not about bigger ships then I would consider using trading stations with internal docking capabilities (Argon and Teladi).
For storage you still have to use additional ships, but you will be OK for fighters.

I saw somewhere that boron EQ dock can hold infinite number of Non capital ships.
Can somebody confirm this?

yep.. they do

for Capital ships the best dock is the PHQ

So far I have nearly 100 ships docked at a Boron one (most of them TS class)- very handy for safeguarding your small ships when you're not using them. And if you put your ED in a sector containing a weapons complex, the benefits are multiplied

yep.. they do

Boron EQD for the win! more expensive than the Argon/Teladi trading stations but you get the 2 capital ship docks as well as unlimited* internal docking for TS/TP/TM/M6/M8 - well worth the extra!
*unlimited in the sense of practical purposes, in X2 I think there was a limit of 10,000 ships IIRC but not sure if that limit still applies.

feeling a bit thick today, how do you mean benefits are multiplied?

I think he means it as in you can have the weapons from the complex ferried over to the EQD, and then just equip the ships from there, instead of having them practically stand in line to get to the complex for outfitting.

Stumbled upon this old post by accident. 5+ years may not be that long for an avid X fanatic who is not interested in X4.

Thinking of getting back to X3 with the new expansion.

Yep, was useful for me getting into AP for the first time. Spent many, many hours (years) in TC but never got around to AP.

I still haven't completed the eradication of Paranoid from the universe in my Poisoned Paranid game I started nearly 9 years ago.
