No chance, sorry. When I try switching to Java 5 then I get 169 compilation errors. Some stuff is easy to fix but others are difficult because I use APIs which are simply not available in Java 5.

Maybe there is a separate download for Java 6 for older Mac OS versions?

Or you could throw away Mac OS and install Linux on it, then you can use OpenJDK 6 which is fine for Xadrian. :-)

Login on this URL is perfectly ok. The question is: Why are you going there? The Xadrian home page is on http://kayahr.github.com/xadrian/ and the links in the top post of this thread are ok. The download links on the xadrian website are also ok (Going to http://www.ailis.de/nexus/ which doesn't need a login). So if you clicked somewhere which redirected you to this wrong URL then please tell me where you found this link, so I can correct it (If it is under my control).

The download link is http://www.ailis.de/nexus/content/repos ... indows.zip

http://www.ailis.de/nexus/ also requires username and password. I check it under IE9 and FF6. May be this behavior depend on IP ?

Just for reference , I am using Lunascape 6 for my web browsing.
I have the same problem with these two links.

I do not need those links , as the main one still works and is in my sig.

Ah, found it. It wasn't working with IPv4 (Still some people out there in the "old" Internet, heh ;-)). With IPv6 all webs have their own IP-addresses but with IPv4 they share one single IP and nexus.ailis.de simply collided with *.ailis.de of the other web. This is fixed now and you should be able to download Xadrian again. Thanks for the hint.

Can anyone help please?

Xadrian has stopped working on my PC.
All I get is the Xadrian icon in the bar at the bottom but nothing else...

I have tried re-installing the latest Java and Xadrian 1.3.3 but nothing happens.

I am using W7 64bit

Just downloaded it, extracted and ran it up. Works fine. I'm using Win7 Home x86.

Have you checked the event viewer?

In windows 7 if you just hit the windows key (or windows button on the task bar) and type event viewer, it should show in the menu. Can't remember how to get there otherwise - control panel I think...

Ok .thanks.
What sort of things am I looking for?

It is not very intuitive for me.
There are various events listed around the time it went wrong, but the wording means little to me.

Would you like to take it to PM ?

I don't want to clog this thread with unnecessary posts. :)

Exhausted and about to give up...for now.

Results thus far...

Java seems to be the problem...

Not sure if I have any other java apps.

JRE 6 SE got an update about the time things went awol.

There are several version of update 27.

I removed all previous version installs and now can't find which of version 27 will work.

Found something on Oracle about older programmes may not work because some commands have changed.Maybe that is the problem ?

I tried different installations ,even tried varying between Progam Files (x86) and Program Files, but to no avail.

However I did get an error report from xadrian saying can't find "Java VM"

Once again I do not know which version or how to get it.

I think maybe the Xadrian Java scripts have to be updated.

Try running the Xadrian.jar file in the /lib folder directly. I've had issues in the past where the launcher program couldn't find the Java virtual machine even though it was right where it should have been...

UPDATE to problem.

I removed all previous versions of Java.

I have installed both 32/64bit versions of Java 6 SE 27 updates.

Downloaded and installed Xadrian.

Xadrian does not work on my system.

Savegame Manager does work.

Both these are Java based.

I guess I will have to get a 32 bit PC just for Xadrian now :(

Ok had a look at both of my systems.

Both run Win 7 64 bit.

Both claim Java is up to date...

However according to the Java control panel both are running 6.0.17-b04 even though when I update it says it is running 6.0.26 and do I want to reinstall?

Further investigation on both shows that 6.0.17-b04 is a 64 bit version whilst 6.0.26 appears to be 32 bit. It would appear that particular 64 bit version of Java can't update itself correctly...

:gruebel:

Either way Xadrian 1.3.1, 1.3.2 and 1.3.3 all work on both machines...

:gruebel:

Don't know if this particular helps you though TTD??? I might flush the Java install on one of the machines and install 6.0.27 and see what happens...

***EDIT***
What happens if you skip to JRE7?

Even the Save game Manager will not recognize Java 7.
Not even accept change via properties menu.

So at least SGM runs under 6_27

Totally uninstalled Java on one machine and installed both 32 and 64 bit versions of Java 7. Xadrian still works without issue, SGM stopped working

Well,if you can work out how to get Xadrian to work on my system,I get SGM to work on yours, then we've cracked it.

I will try again on Sunday.
