Bug: Solar Power Plants M/L using wrong models

Post by G-Fiti » Tue, 26. Oct 21, 20:28

Not sure if it has been pointed out yet. All the Solar Power Plants I could find have the model of the XL version. Their stats seem to be correct, but the models on the M and L variants are wrong.

this is normal. The models were changed to use the same one, and instead the colouring of the stations now change depending on the size.

this is mainly because of the upgrade system, especially when packed into an automatically build complex. So when you upgrade factories, only the colour, and not the model changes. If models got bigger while they were in a complex they will start colliding with each other

All the stations have a "keep out" sphere around them that prevents another station from being built too close to them. If you guys had designed the upgraded station models to fit within the spheres, that would be possible, I think.

I see. Kind of sad to see those models unused though, especially since there would have been other ways around the issue.

Do the NPC statios actually upgrade their stations btw?

There was no one on the Team to remodel the stations.
The engine also does not support switching models of existing objects.

it would be a huge amount of work for very little gain
