1st Hyperspeed Access Point won't activate
ok what am i doing wrong?
Although I've had X3 your years, I've never played FL before.
I'm right at the start, I've placed the 3 relay beacons and found the Hyperspeed Access Point in void gamma and have the interplanetary drive ... but the activate button on the HAP stays greyed out. What am I missing?

How close are you? Ya have to get pretty close to jump.
The only other thing it could be is go through the gates then come back

You have to be within 3km of the HSAP to activate the drive. It says so on the information tooltip that pops out when you click on the HSAP.

You placed the beacons at the designated spots and the mission pointer pointed to the next spot, right?
Upload a save where you're at the HSAP. Let's see if we can figure this out.

Re: 1st Hyperspeed Access Point won't activate
another question. I've found several systems now with Hyperspace Access points, but none of them are showing where to put the beacons
Is this something that happens randomly, or do I need extra equipment to determine the locations for deployment? I thought that's what the low frequency locator was supposed to do?

The beacon placement guidance is handled via a mission.
If you look in your mission list you should see one mission per discovered HSAP.
Activate guidance on each one until you find the one that corresponds to the HSAP in front of you, then follow its guidance to place the beacons.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell which if the missions are the correct one if you happen to have multiple. And sometimes they glitch and not recognize you dropped a beacon in the correct location. With the mission active, I found the best way is to follow the indicator when it's active, and drop the beacon within 100m of it and it will proceed through them. Once it completes and you have all 3, it'll activate it so you can jump through it. Most have Xenon on the other side, so be ready for a small fight. And if a few happen to bail, remember you can take an TM through it later to pick them up.TheCam72 wrote: ↑Tue, 28. Sep 21, 23:33another question. You can drop relay beacons within 1km at least and possibly even a bit further away, no need to be too precise.
