HSPA Sectors. Trouble incoming after claiming?

Post by piranhai aka Dragonslayer » Sun, 27. Jun 21, 19:02

Ok so I found an HSPA Sector which looks to good to be true from the asteroids. Beside that it has a jumpgate to an unknown enemy sector (probaly slightly different named I play the german version).

Know the thing is in both sectors there are no enemy forces. Even the Unknown enemy sector just contains more great astros.

If I would move my HQ to one of these and start putting trade stations and so on. Is there some scripted trouble or invasion happen after some time with these sectors? Do I need to wait until I have strong forces my self to defend it?

Just on basic principles, you should not put any stations in or adjacent to sectors named "Enemy Sector"

Ever heard the saying "It's quiet...too quiet" :P

The sector is scripted to spawn endless enemies at a later point in the game.

They flow out like an endless stream.

There is basically zero Xenon activity in the adjecent sectors in my game and the Khaak never become a serious threat, as only small fighters spawn outside their sector. Deploy a (few) dozen lasertowers and you're golden.

That sounds good for me. Because would be really a shame to not use these crazy astros there.

In my case I have used hub to link it into gate network. It was all fine (no enemies present) until AI decided to put Trans-Orbital Accelerator on HSPA. At this point Khaak station popped up and endless supply of Khaak clusters/corvettes started to appear. Thankfully AI ingored my complex there along with HQ but it was nailing down ANY ship attempting to go there.
I had to arm 3xM7 ships to get foothold there near gate, apply lasertowers and then I was able to evacuate HQ with all those goodies I had stored in it (3x Ozias with 10 Owl miners on each to handle that much cargo).
My old complex is still there- I have tried to move it with tractor beam near gate but apparently You can't move complex in FL.

I've build 2nd better one... and forgotten to install some factories for 2 products I need. Then another obstacle showed up: complex building software cannot handle more than ~47 factories in case of Mammoth (it will get stuck at shipyard saying TL has no space for extension kits).
Conclusion 1: do not build in sector BEFORE placing Trans-Orbital Accelerator on HSPA leading to it.
Conclusion 2: do not use WING with defend position/sector option. It is better to use this command on one ship and allow others to protect it (divided we fall, united we stand).
