[Bug] - The Stock Exchange (Local and Corporate) is broken

Post by DarkSideMaster1 » Wed, 12. May 21, 17:52

Okay, in local Stock Exchange was removed nividium from the list.

But why in Corporate Stock Exchange/Company Indexes these Indexes change very rarely, in a completely random way, and at the same time without any logic?

Please, return the logic of the exchange from X3: AP!!

the company stocks in AP were always just random.

in FL they actually follow patterns

The main problem is that Indexes change too infrequently, so it's not intuitive to use. Actually I thought Local Stock Exchange was not working at all when first open it.

It is not true. I am playing in X3:AP for many hours. And I know how to work Stock Exchange early

Look on an index. It is normal? It is local Stock Exchange.

That's a very welcome change, the problem is that they rarely get updated (every 10 in game mins?). That's 100-200k profit for a company, it's just too little. - I think this is a balance issue.
Commodity exchange seems bugged though - if there's a supply for the item, there's always an oversupply for it and the ware is at minimum price. I followed it for a time (10-20 in game minutes) but never saw them change from minimum price. Tried scooping up all wares in the factory/trading post (I think it was space weed), there still was exactly the demand amount ware available.

Hello,

Would you kindly elaborate a bit on this? I guess this means we need to follow the price movement. By pattern do you mean that each company has it's own ups and downs ? Is it possible to learn this pattern by watching a particular company and use it somehow?

I know. This is another problem with Stock Exchange.

Company index changes randomly, but much faster in X3: AP. In X³: Farnham's Legacy very slow...

Each company will get a pattern of change that they will run for awhile. But these patterns can change over time.
So they may always go up, always go down, dont more at all, move up and down, etc

The pattern runs for about 10 hours before changing

But if they change patterns, what does one need to do to learn a company/pattern and use it reliably? If you are not supposed to learn the patterns because they change, then what is the recommended tactic to make a reliable profit?

Why is there no trend indicators?

Why aren't the prices changeing or updating- at all? At least make the stock exchange fluctuate like a normal stock exchange.

Yep, stock market is completely useless. You don't get fluctuations between normal wares and the corporate stocks don't move, if you decide to sink/waste some money into some corporate stocks and have to leave it a while whilst you're busy then the company goes bust and you lose the lot, no one wants to spend their time watching a stock market when there is a galaxy to explore and ships to capture  :D

I'll stick to making money by capturing and selling dukes armoured transports until the stock market is fixed.

I feel the changes to the stock market make it what it should be: an accessory to play with once you have more money than you know what to do with. You should be prepared to lose everything if you gamble on stocks. The stock market in AP was basically just a cheat code to print money, and FL has other ways to make seed money early.

As for commodities, I'm guessing the current system uses station wares and doesn't take into account wares on ships, so it's only going to change dramatically when a large amount of wares are bought/sold. Again, this is how it should be and removes the money printer.

The Stock Exchange was OP in AP, and I'm glad it's gone.
