Re: NEWS: X3: Farnham's Legacy
And how long this forum will be here?
Re: NEWS: X3: Farnham's Legacy
I expect a while...
There are rumours circulating that you can only get the new expansion if you still own a 28K modem. Folk are flocking to stores asking, ‘what’s a modem?’ There’s been reports that store workers are going missing in basements trying to find dusty tomes such as Modems for Dummies.
Arguments, I hear, have broken out in shop queues as customers argue about what exactly this modem thing might be... There are many theories, including the most bizarre, that it dialled up the internet like a phone from the 1990s with strange sounds. Crazy talk...
Re: NEWS: X3: Farnham's Legacy

I'm really excited for this after my disappointment with X4. Can we get some more details on the new features? I'm specifically interested in "diplomacy and dynamic relations" and "real sector ownership" (source). Has there been any rework made to the economy?

Re: Unveiling X3: Farnham's Legacy – a new chapter for an old favourite
apparently its real, now how well will it play or allow litcube and mayhem mods and perhaps the other community projectos to wrap around it and make use of it ?

Hoping also free of charge to owners of X3 Albion Prelude on other platforms (GoG)?CBJ wrote: ↑Wed, 31. Mar 21, 22:54
X3: Farnham's Legacy will be released on May 4th, 2021. The best news of all, however, is that this new expansion will be FREE OF CHARGE to all owners of X3: Albion Prelude on Steam!
In the four weeks until the release, we will provide you with interviews of the team members to further fuel the anticipation. Please keep an eye on our usual news channels.

10 лет прошло с выхода предыдущего дополнения, я в шоке что Егософт решили что то выпустить в X3 просто абалдеть, пойду проходить опять земной конфликт и Альбион.

Yes, would like some clarity on that front as well. gog have been historically good with this kind of content (i.e. have gone out of their way to host community fixes/patches etc. before) but no announcements so far. It would be a shame if this were Steam only.Ormac wrote: ↑Tue, 6. Apr 21, 14:12Hoping also free of charge to owners of X3 Albion Prelude on other platforms (GoG)?CBJ wrote: ↑Wed, 31. Mar 21, 22:54

We're hoping to do the same thing on GOG, too. But there are a couple of things that still need to be figured out before we can fully confirm that it is happening. That's why we didn't mention GOG in the announcement.

I'll finally get back to the universe where:
- ships were unique with distinguishable laser/shield generators, regen rates/capacity (with no delay for shield regen) which gave an extra level of complexity when choosing the composition of your own fleet
- weapons were unique, not that generic ones from x4
- weapons range made more sense
- missiles were unique, not that generic ones from x4
- missiles occupied the cargo space with no other upper limit on quantity
- they were weapon and missile factories (and all the shenanigans related to the availability of more powerful weapons/missile), at last they don't came out of thin air like in x4
- ships were more nimble, beautiful, slim, not that square shaped monstrosities from x4
- overall ship sizes make some sense, not like in x4 where corvettes are indistinguishable bricks, frigates are rare and are too big and rather useless because you can't dock a fighters/corvette/traders on them
- Xenons looked menacing, Borg like (not those worm/larvae like in x4)
- Kha'ak had larger ships at their disposal and the clusters were spawning lots of different types of fighters when separating
To a generally more thoughtful universe.
I can't wait to spend another thousands of hours in x3.
