We're hoping to do the same thing on GOG, too. But there are a couple of things that still need to be figured out before we can fully confirm that it is happening. That's why we didn't mention GOG in the announcement.

I'll finally get back to the universe where:
- ships were unique with distinguishable laser/shield generators, regen rates/capacity (with no delay for shield regen) which gave an extra level of complexity when choosing the composition of your own fleet
- weapons were unique, not that generic ones from x4
- weapons range made more sense
- missiles were unique, not that generic ones from x4
- missiles occupied the cargo space with no other upper limit on quantity
- they were weapon and missile factories (and all the shenanigans related to the availability of more powerful weapons/missile), at last they don't came out of thin air like in x4
- ships were more nimble, beautiful, slim, not that square shaped monstrosities from x4
- overall ship sizes make some sense, not like in x4 where corvettes are indistinguishable bricks, frigates are rare and are too big and rather useless because you can't dock a fighters/corvette/traders on them
- Xenons looked menacing, Borg like (not those worm/larvae like in x4)
- Kha'ak had larger ships at their disposal and the clusters were spawning lots of different types of fighters when separating

To a generally more thoughtful universe.

I can't wait to spend another thousands of hours in x3. :D

This is by far the best April fools joke I've ever witnessed. It is glorious....

So... who are the modders who did this?

I'm so stoked for this!
This year hasn't been good for me so having one of my favourite games get an expansion like this is amazing.
Sometimes I stream stuff: https://www.twitch.tv/sorata77 (currently World of Tanks)

Would love to join. But it’s gonna be midnight here in Sri Lanka, and I have to work tomorrow.

This is exiting news though! Fingers crossed!

What about X4? Nah, I prefer a space simulator rather than a walking simulator.

If this does not contradict the rules and beliefs of the developers of this add-on, place the texts in the first message. Anyone will be able to download them and translate into their language. Thanks. Charming ... :x3:

GOG support is my concern too, any details on what needs to be figured out?

Is there a list of engine features or change log? (modder eye candy)

Can we port TC and AP content to FL? (e.g. TCAP mod)

Why wasn't there some mention of this on S&M or DevNet L3 before? No more community beta testing?

And how long this forum will be here? 🤔
I expect a while...

There are rumours circulating that you can only get the new expansion if you still own a 28K modem. Folk are flocking to stores asking, ‘what’s a modem?’ There’s been reports that store workers are going missing in basements trying to find dusty tomes such as Modems for Dummies.

Arguments, I hear, have broken out in shop queues as customers argue about what exactly this modem thing might be... There are many theories, including the most bizarre, that it dialled up the internet like a phone from the 1990s with strange sounds. Crazy talk...
Well then I'm in luck, for once, I'm still on dialup, 26.4kbps (3.2kB/s) most days, drops to 24kbps when it rains with frequent disconnects, govt has put hundreds of millions into expanding service in WV, mostly sucked up by Frontier Communications for massively inflated costs on small upgrades (racket), but these days their service is actually slowing down, lines degrade below DSL minimums and aren't fixed, my lines were never upgraded and get noisier every year. I tried to start a county gigabit fiber project, had $25.3M in funding lined up, but local good ol' boys did a power grab, kicked me and other techs off the project, put their friends in charge, then it fizzled out in spectacular incompetence, wasting $350k. Only hope was SpaceX Starlink service, now maybe Biden's infrastructure projects too, if its a purely federal project without much state or local control, til then I have to drive 17 miles to decent open wifi to download anything. But I digress, Steam doesn't work on dialup, hasn't since around 2009, tried hassling with shuttling game data via laptop but game validation never finishes, for me its GOG or nothing.

Hi CBJ :)

Probably a bit of a daft question but what's the computer (and OS) specs. for running Farnham's Legacy?
I presume they're the same as for X3 Albion Prelude, but just thought to ask anyway. :)

The info is on the Steam store page, but yes, they are the same requirements as X3AP. :)

Unfortunately (but unsurprisingly) our text file format is not supported by that tool.

That appears to only work for "flat" XML. Ours is paged, and also contains certain formatting strings.
