ARG - Station Chain 1 for PHQ Teleport

Post by Baddieus » Fri, 13. Jan 23, 21:58

Howdy Everyone,

This is the station chain I used to initially be able to teleport the PHQ, and I'm making it available for those who aren't into the station planning or don't have the time (Here's a photo album https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAo4yQ). All of these are built from Argon modules exclusively and do not have any defenses, but those are easily added on after the fact just like the casino or gambling den you might see in the pics of which neither are in the blueprints. Finally, I'm including an outline of the station settings & build path I went through in order to initially teleport the PHQ. All of them fit easily in a 4x4x4 plot, and many would fit in a 3x3x3.

*Almost all of these start with the large container storage module to the left allowing you to grab or rotate the whole station from that one module (all of my solar panels face the star).
*Make a global trade rule for yourself only and set it as default so you will only be selling the end products & not the intermediate wares you will want to have some inventory for later.
*WWSM = Water, Wheat, Spice, & Meat for the stations that make their own food, and you will want to manually set the storage space for each in the Overview because you don't need a lot.
I set at follows .. Energy 20,000, Water 15,000, Wheat, Spice, & Meat 10,000 each, and the Food & Meds I set equal to 3/hr usage you will see in the overview once the workers are moved in.

ARG - Hull Parts Plus 5x and 7x. This is the 1st station to build in an early game, the 5x version has no workers and is easily expanded to the 7x edition with a full worker count later.
Building the 5x as early as possible will fill up the shipyards & such needing hull parts, making them cheap to purchase for station building as well as supplying a lot of your own on each build.
You will want to add the habitats for the 4,905 workers to the 5x and let them fill up a bit before copying & pasting the extra 2x Graphene, Refined Metals, & Hull Parts modules into the empty spaces.
I have 2 XL miners providing ore and occasionally have to add a 3rd to keep up, plus 1 xl gas miner & 2 medium gas miners providing the methane, and 4 XL traders (all Barbarosas from the VIG).
Finally, I leave the storage space on auto and unrestricted all 3 main items for sale in the Overview ... Graphene, Refined Metals, & Hull Parts all sell well & you will need all available for the chain.

ARG Food & Meds - There are 2 versions of this station because you will want to build at least 2 of them before the entire chain is complete or you will be required to purchase some from NPC's.
Because I built this chain in 2nd Contact Flashpoint II, the PIO will come by and purchase over 10,000 Meds & over 20,000 food at a time thus being so profitable, I leave them open for general sale.
I have yet to see more than 1/2 of available storage space full in either station, so chose to both supply my own from these as well as buying from the local economy on my stations that import such.
There is 1 dedicated medium class ice miner assigned to each station and currently 4 ice miners assigned to the local sector to keep the ice full for these 2 and the others in the chain.

ARG - Microchiplex - This one makes $$$, so instead of building just one for the chain, I built 2 and sell to the economy as well as provide for my own stations where needed.
There is 1 XL Silicon miner assigned to each station and 2 XL Silicon Advanced Auto miners next door in 2nd Contact VII selling on a 2 range that keep mine & the NPC stations quite full.
I've only unrestriced the Microchips, keeping the Silicon Wafers in house as I'll need them for other stations later. Also, 4 XL traders (all Barbarosas from the VIG) are assigned to each.

Continues in 2nd thread ... viewtopic.php?f=195&t=450948

These are great!

Is there any way that you could make them only use Argon L Habitats? It may not be absolutely optimal, but it saves the ~25mil cost to buy, or time to steal M and S size Habitats for a miniscule efficiency gain.

I suggest the same for storages. Just use Ls if you can since the build cost is so minimally different

I would also suggest switching to the 3M6S Standard Dock for all your M/S docks just because Ms are so frequently used as station traders.

That can be done, all you need to do is open the station planner, load the blueprint & modify it according to your available schematics, then save the new copy for you to load up in-game.
Take note though that I assembled these in order to get products flowing, workers loaded, then the rest of the products because the stations won't run correctly without a full workforce.
I put a casino on my 1st food factory & a couple of gambling dens on others, which translates to all new stations gaining over 100 workers an hour, and some need 7,500 .. keep that in mind.
There are 2 3M6S docks on the front side of every station which is plenty for the trading as I don't have 6-M traders assigned to any 1 station and have not seen that many trying to dock.
The other smaller docks you see are more just for looks or an extra space at the rear just in case your placement is easier to be approached from that direction.

All of these stations are easily modifiable or added to after loading, or even after being built, if you feel the need.

Again, these are fantastic. I was always dreading having to build new stations, but now these are basically all I use as I'm ramping up to more station and ship building.
