This is a bit of an odd one.
Since the kha'ak installations first showed up I never though they were armed at all, just the small defence platforms. But today I flew my erlking into the structure to park it and let it hit all the surrounding pyramids, and to my amazement the station lit up with kyons...
Upon further inspection it seems that the kha'ak turrets that should have a range of 4.5km but only seem to be able to attack from much much shorter range.

In the included save you can see in scan mode that there are 3 turrets at the top of the screen attached to the pyramid, they cant hit you until you approach to about 1.5km (and therefore the front of the ship is actually closer than that).
I think something is wrong here. It would be great if these installations fought back, ive just never realised they were armed until I did this silly maneuver. Have they always been armed?
