It seems this is related to my recent teleport of my HQ station which was surrounded by many Laser Towers.
After teleporting my HQ station, I went to the old location and picked up my Laser Towers that were all bunched together in space where the old HQ station location was. After picking them all up, I am now unable to place any of the Laser Towers MK2's. I get the usual placement sound when I try to place one, but no Towers leave my inventory and they do not appear in space.
I'll provide my save file if needed.

"I'll provide my save file if needed." Yes please, both before and after saves would be perfect. The devs don't have time to recreate a PHQ with defences and then jump it around using the proper gameplay methods.
