[RES][#539][6.0 Beta 1] Spacesuit Collision Zone, cannot scan Data Leaks
Load this save and try to scan the signal leaks (There are 4 of them, obvious in front of you, you are in your space suit). It cannot be done because we bounce away from the station a few meters before the actual surface.

I could reproduce.
The leaks are 13m away, the space suit range for scanning is 10m as far as i know, therefore you can not scan them.
Workaround right now, dont place EMP bombs in trenches, but on more exposed surfaces.

I've had this same issue. Would it be possible to slightly increase the range to scan these data leaks in the space suit? I keep bouncing away from the station while trying to scan a spontaneously occurring leak. I cannot for the life of me get close enough, even though the leak is not hidden or buried deeply in the station geometry.

I have the same issue while scanning Advanced Electronics and Quantum Tube modul.

Whenever i use EMP Bombs to produce Data leaks i cannot get close enough to scan them, theres always an invisible wall that pushes me back, i tried to find a flat section and still could not get close enough to be able to scan them.
Im assuming its because of the new Physics Engine ? So your still working on adjusting collision sizes of all the Ships, Stations etc.
Just wanted to share the Issue.

Feedback related to beta builds should go in the beta feedback forum section. I have moved this topic there.
In past versions the spawn location of some data leaks required partial or even full clipping to be scannable by the space suit. Although a lot of the static ones (ones that occur naturally) that required clipping have been fixed by patches, this might not be the case with all the dynamically created ones from EMPs. Combined with the new collision physics being more strict with distances between objects it is quite possible that some data leaks can no longer easily be scanned by the space suit. In this case a good solution might be to increase the range at which the space suit scanner works, increasing the tolerance to non ideally placed data leaks and generally allowing players to scan data leaks with more clearance between their ship/suit and the object surface.

I had the same problem when I tried to scan for blueprint an Argon M Container module, puting the bomb where I always did.
Following save file:

I finally managed to scan the module when I discovered a smooth, seemingly hard, surface on the top of it, which I did not know existed after over 7000 hours of playing he game(!!!).
Definitely both the ship and module borders need work... some of them serious work...

Yea the Collision Size needs to be reduced for when you are EVA, no idea how that works but hopefully it will be worked on whenever they can.

ya i started new game and was going through the X4 Tides of Avarice - pirate start - Plans And Machinations, had to launch emp then scan the leaks. cannot get close enough in spacesuit to scan them and start bouncing off ship, so im stuck i guess until its fixed. or modify the game with scanner mod, which i didnt want to do.

When you have to go back to the prison to rescue Maestro's brother, every time you cycle through an airlock, the game tries to shove you inside the station model. I got stuck inside the station model several times. In the past, blasting at full speed towards a surface could sometimes get you out of a situation like that, but the new collision system seems to prevent this, so you get permanently stuck. I had to save and reload about 10 times to finish the mission. I also play with an xbox controller and it shakes violently during airlock cycling.

When you have to repair Data Leaks to save a Teladi's Ship from the Tide and when you have to scan a data leak to retrieve a new Ship from the Salvage Yard for the Teladi (manage to to get that one after spamming Jetpack boost to stop myself from bouncing away).

The same happens, on the Paramid plot, when you try to scan the artifact. It took many tries to find a spot where I can get close enough to scan the data leak.

[6.00 Beta 492332]Unaccessible Data leak spawning in space station
While I was at the main Teladi trading station in my universe (TEL Trading station, sector Ianamus Zura IV), I accepted their random mission to fix three data leaks there. One of the data leak seemed to spawn in its tube, which I wasn't able to enter nor fly around it.
To replicate the issue.:
1. Fly at the TEL Trading station in the sector Ianamus Zura IV.
2. Accept its mission to fix three data leaks.
3. Find the first one or other ones successfully.
4. Find out that one of the leaks is in the station (object), where you can't fly.
Unfortunetaly, I have kept no saves of the issue as at the time when I encountered it I regarded it as a potential issue of old save from stable version. So all I can offer is the save at the area, where the mission was eventually generated.

have the same prob. the new collision mechanic is annoying for signal leak detection. it's preventing me from approaching and scanning signal leak. just keeps collides and vibrate. there's an air wall. now i could not complete the missions

I'm having the same issue. In my case I'm trying to scan a data leak in order to continue with the Casino Module Research but i'm unable to reach it since it's in a small space between two large panels. Data leak is 100mts away.
