Split Campaign Ending Consequences

So first I read somewhere that

Choosing to unite the Paranid causes most in-game wars to cease.
This seems like it would practically paralyze the economy once all of the factions have their full focus on the Xenon and ultimately destroy all of their shipyards.

Are there any pitfalls like this to be avoided in the Split campaign as well? I'm currently afraid to do the Split plot because I don't want a stagnant universe.

Helping the curbs overthrow Zyarth makes the faction that replaces Zyarth (RHAK I think?) become neutral to the argon (ending any wars there) and also makes them less aggressive towards the Free families/Curbs but they will slug it out every once in a while. Alternatively, helping Zyarth crush the curbs allows Zyarth to take almost all Free Families/Curbs sectors and Zyarth will in the end only be at war with the Argon and Xenon. In a nutshell its a tossup between having Zyarth at war with the Argon but unify the Split or split the Split and let them have a cold-war standoff.
Taking a bath in Kingdom End :boron:
