resources for a modder with free time

hi everyone

just want to say thank you to all the modder's on here that's helped me to get my mod development to where it is. I'm at a position where im going to be too busy for the unforeseeable future to get it finished. i've had to take on more work and will be to busy to play the game never mind work on mods for it. I've enjoyed learning from you all and if anyone wants to take the models I've started to build and make some ships that are worthwhile out of them then feel free. ill post the links to the original files I used to make my models and everything I've got so far. thanks again everyone for all the help.

U are at same stuck spot like me , i cannot create xml xmf from dae becouse xr converter not works like everyone lies here unfortunatelly only help u get from this community is link to 404 website ir forum page where people have absolutely same issue no solution....

Thank you for the reply. The whole process has been very confusing and I keep hitting the same roadblocks. I can convert the .dae to a .xml but then you have to manually add bits to it which can get confusing. The challenge I’ve had is understanding how to create a new material then translate that data to a material_library.

What have you worked on? Maybe it’s something we could work out together with a bit of time? I’m working a lot at the minute so I’m struggling to fully commit but I’m happy to see if I’ve figured anything out your struggling with.

I will post placeholder on nexus latter tonight . I will upload even obj files whith textures.

Btw here its allready converted x4 assets to daes and yes it can be open in blender looks like those daes uncludes textures my dae have 804 kb his daes have 13 mb etc maybe it helps u it didnt helps me except i created proper bat for making xml from his dae

Yeah I see what you mean. I’ve done the conversion from xml to dae and back again. My challenge was making the textures appear in game. I’m sure I’ll figure something out in time. Just struggling with the time to turn my ships into more than just models for now.

I know some mod ship use extra material library in libraries to path textures check dead air rt ships he have this libraries
Whith out it it wont shows textures .

Did you say there was a placeholder somewhere? I remember you saying you were working on one.

Yes sorry i was busy screwing up something in blender but i hit floor
Heres my statement


Hello there ..

This is ship of my dream but after 2 months of everyday failing in blender to export proper dae file to convert it to the x4 i hit the floor and hardcore frustration ,so badly i need brake from x4 and gaming generally for long time..

But i added all my progress plus all required files in folders whith video how to do it . If just someone can import model into blender and export it into the game .

I added Obj and 3ds max format nodel whith all textures .. btw textures all ready have uv maping just turn it by pressing a than s than y than -1 and textures will be exactly where it should be but im failing to export it...

I also added placeholder working ship mod but it just for fun to fly in x4

If anyone interest to finish this mod i will be greatfull..and if someone finish this i offer even financial reward if contact me on xospectre@protonmail.ch

ok well ive found your files and will download and have a look. im not promising anything because i cant finish my own but who knows maybe looking at a different project will give me a fresh perspective.
