Would like to make a game start myself.. but...

Question for you modders..

And yes, I know about the games new game start that allows us to setup all sorts of parameters for a new game start... BUT what I would like to know is, exactly in a game start, where and how do we tell it which storylines have already been completed?

For example, I want to create a storyline that starts after I get the HQ AND after I complete the run to the torus wreckage to get the terraforming data but leave everything else (for now) still unplayed through. I have done that torus mission so many times now that I want to just bypass it all together but not lose all the other stuff I have already done in my campaign, including losing my ships and such, known sectors and everything I do prior to actually moving into story play mode, except for getting the HQ of course.

I like to start, get the HQ, lay SATS in all sectors I can, build a fleet of trading and mining ships and fighters to escort them, build up my rep a bit, build up the HQ a bit and get some research going, THEN start on some of the bigger storylines... I would like to skip the torus/terraforming to just after I get past that mission and lose the AI from the new ship.

Anyone help on this?
Take it light.....
