The easiest way to add resources into a sector?

Post by al_dude » Mon, 3. May 21, 21:11

What would be the easiest way to add a resource to a sector?

For an example, I would like to add methane to Morning Star IV. Nothing else. What are the steps in order to do so?

Thanks in advance.

If you have unpacked the cats (if not then do it ... how to: see sticky on top of this forum) then look for an xml file that defines the environment of each system. I can't remember the exact name of that file but it should be something like region_definitions.xml to be found in the library folder. The names of the systems maybe somewhat cryptic (numbers rather than real names). Lookup the numbers in the text db to find the corresponding name. If you finally know where in the xml the system's environment is defined then just add the resource you want using xml editing. Check existing resource definitions for the correct format and remember to adjust the coordinates (may need some test runs).

Hope that helps,

Cheers Euclid
