[Question] How to upload a mod to steam with a sub .cat file?

Post by Max Bain » Sun, 4. Apr 21, 18:42

I want to upload a mod to the steam workshop, but the mod contains a subst_01.cat file and tells me that I can not upload it because of this. So how can i make steam create this additional .cat file for me?

I just upload as normal after using the catalog tool to make the sub_st dat and cat.
Something like - WorkshopTool publishx4 -path "..\X4 Foundations\extensions\XXX" -preview "..\X4 Foundations\extensions\XXX\preview.jpg"
Never got an error message or anything.

Eg, neutral engine tints is just a content.xml and a cat and dat file https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2411366357

Ah I see. This works I guess. Normally, I have just my folders and let the steam uploader create the cat files which it will delete after upload. So now I have to create the cat files on my own before uploading. At least it works.
Thank you!
