[Mod][Spoiler] TradeStart - Various Trade Starts

Hi spacefriends. I always did the Humble Merchant start in my X3 runs as I love the X-Series for trading. I was a little shocked to see that there wasn't a trade start when I fired up X4, so I decided to create one.

Well, it turns out Egosoft made one, and it just isn't available when you first start playing X4.

You get this start by completing whatever ACH_PLOT_2 is in the game. I couldn't really find exactly what achievement this is (or rather, which plot it is). The gamestart also doesn't have any voiceovers (intro nor cutscene).
This mod removes the achievement requirement for the trader start. This *will* flag your save as ***modified***.

With version 1.1.0, I added a trade start that should look quite familiar to X3 players.

Install Instructions:
1. Download the .rar file
2. Extract the "TradeStart" directory into "Path\To\X4 Foundations\extensions" (create the "extensions" folder if it doesn't exist)
3. Start the game, select 'New Game', and you should see the new gamestarts

Changelog:
2018-12-01 - v1.1.0 - Added an trade start that should feel very familiar for X3 vets. Use v1.0.0 if you just want to unlock the Egosoft X4 trader start.
2018-11-30 - v1.0.0 - Initial release, removes achievement requirement from the Egosoft designed Trade start for X4

I can't get the archive to extract, 7zip says it can't open as archive

Apologies, it was late last night and I just right clicked the folder and hit 'Add to rar archive'. I have replaced the .rar file with a .zip file created by 7zip and updated the download link. You shouldn't have any problems with the archive now, and you should no longer require WinRAR.

thanks! its strange, I open rar files all the time with 7zip, never been an issue before.

Soo, will having it marked as Modified disable achievements on steam? Or no effect really?

doesn't appear to affect achievements, I've got a few since installing the mod

Thanks @revpancake, I had no idea if it would affect achievements.

I've added another start that is available for those (like me) who feel the Egosoft's trade start is much too generous, but still want a trader-focused gamestart.

To upgrade, just overwrite the v1.0.0 files with the v1.1.0 files.

you read my mind, i started a game and immediately went back to normal as having the station to begin was a bit much

The Egosoft Trader start isn't as generous as it seems. :)
I tried to play it but it didn't work out, to much hassle with the drawback. Let's just say that the plot where your station is build was never paid for obviously.

HQ modules are not active during construction. Someone came across this.? At a different start, everything is fine.

Is there a list of what added starts you added?

I only see Unworthy Entrepreneur and Humble Merchant. Is Humble Merchant the old X3 style trader start?
