This has been bugging me for a bit. I have a second monitor that I regularly use to look up stuff while I'm playing, but every time I task out, the sound mutes while the game continues to run. I could pause it, but I actually don't want to most of the time. What I would like to know is if there's any alerts or combat I should pay attention to.
I don't see an in-game option for this, but I know not all options are exposed in the UI. Anyone know of a setting buried in some XML file or something for this?
If not, could this be something added to the game?
Any way to keep sound on when game is minimized or in the background?

This has been asked for before, but I can't find any changes. I have a suspicion this may be more an OS sound device function than a game design decision.
I asked a dev and they advised as follows:
"There's a "-nosoundthrottle" command line parameter that does what he wants." That's the way you communicate what you want to happen to the OS.
