Stuck in the paranid storyline investigation derelict station - Modded game.

Post by PurplePancake » Mon, 16. Jan 23, 16:37

Good day to whoever will read this.

I am in a bit of a pickle in my first playthrough of x4 as described in the title.
I am supposed to scan 5 nav beacons near the derelcit station. I did that but when scanning (i believe the second beacon) the process seems to not have finished. I didnt think much about it and kept scanning the others.
Now i scanned all 5 and the hud is stuck saying aquiring data please wait and the progress bar is almost done but wont budge, I scanned 5 beacons and cannot find any more purple signals and the beacons i scanned all disappeared..
My last save is like 5 hours ago so that is an option id like to not choose. I dont really now how i can progress this mission now. Maybe u guys know if i am missing something or if i can get myself out of this state without reloading an old save.
Something i belive might have caused this is i teleported around a bit while flying from beacon to beacon and i think i also teleported away while scanning ome of the beacons because a station was attacked and i had to react to defend controlling a ship there. I might have teleported just as the beacon disappeard but just before the data aquiration finsihed or something liek that sound a bit odd and very poorly timed but that was just a assumption i made when thinking about this.

As to my save game and computer specs
This is my save file I dont know if u need it extracted or not i just extracted it and uploaded the file itself

https://drive.google.com/file/d/15dzivg ... sp=sharing

I am using a few mods from the workshop but nothing major
The mods i use are
Reaction Force a new behaviour for ai ships
Multi Rename visuals
Tech paintjobs visuals
setfleetname color visuals
trader seminars seminars for all ranks at vendors
crafted mod components craftable mod parts
and more default paint visuals
I dont think any of this should mess with story stuff or anything major but i dont know.

Maybe u can figure out what is going on maybe im just dumb and missed a dialog or smgght telling me i need to do soemthing but i flew around the station for like 30 minutes and couldnt find a way to progress. It just aquires data forever

Oh also almost forgote i play the game in english however i am german and live in germany the game language is set to english however. The version is whatever the current updated steam version is

A few things about Tech Sp. The problem you face is that your game is modded and so the devs not only may have issues just in loading your save as they don't have the mods installed on their system, but also that they cannot know the game effects of those mods and so may be unwilling to spend their valuable investigation time on modded game issues. The other thing is that where we do need supporting information such as DxDiag and VulkanInfo, we need all of it and not just extracts. How to upload and link such information via reputable public fileshare sites is mentioned in the Sticky thread at the top of this forum. It may not be needed in this case though.

Saves do *not* need to be extracted before uploading - in fact it saves upload/download time if they are not.

It does sound as if something in the unusual sequence of player actions has broken the mission sequencing due to unforeseen circumstances (whether with or without the mods affecting things). It might be best to reload a save made before the issue happened and play that part again. Sorry.
