[1749][5.0 HF3] Casino Module Research mission stuck with "No Objectives" - Fix in a build after 5.0 HF4.

This refers to the research mission to get the Casino Module, not the Gambling Den.

This mission gives you several sub-missions to scan the habitat modules of various races. After these are completed, instead of progressing, the sub-missions would show "--- No Objectives ---" and the mission is stuck.
"Set to active" button now does nothing. Canceling and restarting the research in the research page would not change the mission status.

Please post a link to a vanilla save showing this issue as the devs cannot investigate the cause from a screenshot.

It's a custom start (hence *modified*) but the start does not touch any part of the welfare module storyline or blueprints. I did the Gambling Den research mission myself and progressed to this point.

I tried to read the save file myself. It seems that for the investigate various races sub-missions, $TargetRaces has five races (argon, teladi, split, paranid, terran), and in $CompletedRaces argon is missing. However, the in game mission is not showing that I need to do more scanning or any other objectives, and thus the mission cannot progress.

Research being stuck after starting a custom gamestart with Protectyon already researched is one of the things that was fixed in 5.00 HF3, released yesterday. Have you tried since then?

How does one even activate welfare 2 storyline (for casino)? This has pretty much everyone stumped at the moment.

Yes I am using HF3 but nothing has changed regarding this mission since the update. The custom start of the save I attached only skips some old storylines and does not touch anything ToA. (TBH I don't even know what Protectyon even is. Not very far into the ToA plot)

If I understand the script correctly, after the welfare 1 mission is completed and you have a Gamble Den built, it triggers the addition of welfare 2 to your research page. If you don't have a Den then it gives you a mission to build one.

However, I don't think things here are working as intended. I might have stated welfare 2 mission before completing a Den, and have never seen the mission to build a Den.

Currently I own multiple gambling dens and completed welfare 1 storyline but no option to research welfare 2 exists and no associated storyline as far as I can tell. I completed Welfare 1 during the 5.00 public beta and built at least a few gambling dens since 5.00 released and Tides of Avarice was added to the playthrough.

Was the casino available in beta before release? If no then there might not be a triggers for welfare 2 to in your save?

It may comes down to how the script works. If it checks periodically whether conditions are met, then it should progress. But if it relies soley on previous stage triggering the next stage, then there may be a problem.

Welfare 2 is parts of the Tides of Avarice DLC as far as I can tell. As such it was not part of the public beta for 5.00.

This generally points towards welfare 2 being bugged on existing saves and not triggering as it should.

I have a bug, there is a headquarters, there are residential modules built, but the research did not appear, what should I do?

With so little information, nobody is going to be able to help you. Not only that, but the issue in this thread seems to have very little to do with what you describe, and has been fixed anyway, so whatever you've run into must be something else.

Please read the sticky thread at the top of the forum - the one that says "Please read this before posting!" in the title - then create a new thread with the details requested. Then maybe someone will be able to help you.

I seem to have the same problem as OP, mission stuck on no objectives, wondering if I need to do the Arcadian endeavour missions first(but not placated VIG yet

Again, the issue encountered by the OP has been fixed, so if you are still having problems then it must be something different and you will need to provide all the information requested at the top of the forum, preferably including a savegame showing the problem, if you want us to look into it. I would also suggest starting a new thread, so that your issue doesn't get missed.

This is sooo... stupid :) In game and in my behaviour :D

Got stuck too. No more options (no objectives). Waited one day and today accidentally clicked research... here you go! New research ready to be done!
