How Do You Import Saves?

So I'm not seeing this question asked when I search for it, and google isn't bringing up anything either. I know its possible, but I don't see how to import the saves in the game, and I have them under the

.config/EgoSoft/X4

directory.

Not sure if this makes a difference, but I'm on Linux Mint 20.2.

Not sure if this is the right place or not, to ask this question. But since it wasn't just a copy files into correct directory thing, I thought this might be a technical issue.

The savefiles shall be placed in the "save" directory like this:

$HOME/.config/EgoSoft/X4/save/save_001.xml.gz

This is for GOG release.

PC Gaming WIKI mentions some <user-id>, but maybe it is for Steam™ version. GOG does not use it.

Yep, that did it. Dangnabbit google, not bringing up the wiki when I search for 'x4 how to import saves'. Ah well, thanks!
