[BUG] Supply Ship Trade need revision

Post by Xkuka » Sat, 27. Nov 21, 05:12

I know this is only partially a bug, or maybe a couple of them, but here it goes.
There are a couple of problems that make Fleet Supply Ships very hard to use.

1. The storage capacity of some supply ships dont match the totals of the wares to be stored. The Teladi Stork is one of them, it has less total container storage then the sum of the wares required. So the trader goes and collect wares it cannot deliver to the mothership.

2. Even if the storage capacity meets the sum of the wares, trader will go and buy wares not actually required by the mothership. In doing so cluttering their storage and become unusable at some point.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kCUIjJ ... sp=sharing <-Storage is full but...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jCOOWz ... sp=sharing <-...trader is still collecting wares...
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aV-ltA ... sp=sharing <- ...and for some reason also collecting job errors insteat of returning home and dock/follow to the mothership.

3. Idle behavior of traders is the same as for other traders, and they ignore docking order and idle where they finished their last order. Which makes operations with Supply Ships problematic since the traders may idle in hostile space and get attacked and destroyed, or they are left on the other side of the galaxy if the fleet moves on...

4. Balance of stored wares could be rebalanced. These are big ships, but some wares are only hold in very, very small numbers. It feels like this is one of Bernds game design decisions to increase difficulty...

5. Repairs, i know there is a "throw money at the problem" meta for the whole game. But wouldnt it be nice if we would need actual parts for repairs? Insteat of paying our own facilities to do a job for they are brought in place in the first place?
I mean i can run out of missile components real quick, but as long as wireless bank transfers working i can at least repair my stuff, right?
But in all seriousness, this may makes a player decide not to use some features because they are simply not properly balanced.

Sorry for the sarcasm if its offending someone, its not meant be evil. Im just struggling with such logical leaps... :sceptic:

/edit:
6. I just realized that owned station traders in range may try to deliver wares to the Supply Ship, even if the storage is full, so they fail and go to idle. Which is incredible problematic if the Supply Ship is in a hostile environment.
