Crash Exit Code 1028 - What should I do ??

This has happened twice in a row, in less than 10 minutes. What do I do ?

Running on Linux, PopOS 20.10

You could start by giving us some information to work with. The first thread in this forum tells you the things we need, though in your case, obviously, the DXDiag isn't relevant. The only thing I can suggest based on the little information you've provided so far is to update your graphics drivers, as certain NVidia driver versions (assuming that's what you are using) had problems with this kind of "lost device" error.

Edit: Since I started typing, you've added part of your vulkaninfo, but unfortunately not the interesting part. If it's too large for the forum then you can either spread it across multiple posts or upload it somewhere as a file and provide a link.

Good Morning! No issues encountered after lowering graphics, and The game looks great! I've even connected it to my Mom's large-screen 50-inch, she enjoys watching.

Hi,
If you want (and can spare the time) we just released a beta, it should improve the stability at higher quality settings (although there are still limits, especially on resolution).
We're looking for feedback on that front, e.g. is it better? how much ? does it still crash? are there cases where it crashes/fails more? etc.
Keep in mind though it's a beta and there are always serious issues:(

So if you have a moment I'd really appreciate if you tried:
1. make backups of your savegames and config.xml
2. crank up settings until you start running into issues
3. switch to the beta and test whether it's better/worse
4. tweak settings more to see what happens
5. switch back to the normal release and restore your config file and savegames (if you overwrote any using the beta)

"How long is the beta typically available ?" Until it gets to become the latest release version. Thats depends mostly on what issues are found in the beta.

Hum, short version: Unable to duplicate the issue in the current version, 4.0. One difference that I can think of is that I've been applying updates, and (linux) nvidia-driver-45_? has updated several times since. It's now nvidia-driver-465.31

Current Release:
Increased graphics from low to medium and changed display-mode back to "Full Screen". Flew similar route, standing in the cockpit behind my pilot, which is what I was doing when the issue was encountered.
No issues.
So, jerked the mouse around, made myself nice and dizzy. No issues.
Increased graphics to "Ultra", started a big fight with Xenon. Eventually looked away(to keep from getting dizzy), and spun the mouse around, like "dancing queen"(by ABBA).
No issues.

Beta Version:
Graphics already set to 'Ultra', so I left it there.
Started similar big fight with Xenon, no issues.
So I ordered my ship to "Repeat Orders" and selected dock-n-wait between 2 stations.
I chose a route similar to when I encountered this issue. We were on a superhighway, passing thru each system quickly.
Route is as follows: Argon Prime, then eventually to Pontifex claim, holy vision, true sight, Pious mists II, and eventually to Grand Exchange I.
Some of those sectors are traversed quickly, spending only a few seconds in the sector.
Made some herbal-tea, and let it run for 30 minutes.
No issues.

Though, it did seem like the higher graphics settings made my pilot become sloppy (as if, maybe the CPU was also more busy and had less time to "fly" the ship). She's been a good 1.8 star pilot in the past. But with high graphics, she was bouncing off/through walls, rolling-over...

I saw the aurora borealis; nice touch.
