Station has completely wrong ware-storage useage values on the Information page - Made clearer in a future build.

Post by exogenesis » Sun, 2. May 21, 12:50

I was wondering why my ice-filled L-miners were delivering only 1 ice at a time,
when the station info-page says :
'Filled Capacity (Solid): 245,424 / 4,000,000 m3'
http://www.Exogenesis.co.uk/20210502111621_1.jpg

When I try to tell a miner to transfer all it's ice, the transfer dialog says the station has used :
'Solid Storage 3,999,990 / 4,000,000 m3'
http://www.Exogenesis.co.uk/20210502111637_1.jpg

Save game :

So I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why the station has run out of ice,
only to find the info-pane is telling me porky-pies !
Just need some more storage modules...

Could this be related to this topic ?

(game was being run with BurnIt's temporary mini-mod,
which fixes overflow-calculation in auto-storage amounts in station with >1000 modules)

Actually it looks like it's the ship->station transfer dialog that has the wrong values,
the station info-pane values look correct, when manually adding up the ore/silicon/ice stored amount,
with the relevant ware-unit-volumes taken into account.

Sorry for the 2nd self-reply, but further info :

It seems the station is reporting to the 'trading code' that it has much more ore/silicon/ice
than the station info page (or the 'Overview') are saying there is in stock :

Can't figure any relationship between these numbers e.g. :
Station-info-page says : Silicon 109K of 202K is stored (15K is due to be delivered by station miners).
Trading dialog says station has : Silicon 386K (202K wanted).

It's not the mini-mod itself causing this, I get exactly the same with it removed.

This is happening with both 'mega' shipyards (~1750 modules each, 45 of these are L-storage modules),
but not with the PHQ (550 modules, 385 of these are L-storage modules).

So I guess the mis-calculation error has knock-on trading effects,
i.e. other than with calculating the auto-stock levels ?

Currently working around this by setting manual mineral-ware storage-levels,
suitable for 4 solid L-storage modules,
then doubling the stations to 8 solid L-storage modules.

I have the same problem but with methane and helium

This is part bug, part feature.
Example: if you have 1000 Ore in solid storage and there's a ship with a trade order to unload 500 Ore the menu would show you 15000 m³ solid storage as being "in use". Right now you don't see where the "real" cargo volume ends and the expected volume starts, we're working on making that clearer in the relevant menus.
We'll improve the visualisation there to make it clear that the displayed volume is the expected volume including any scheduled deliveries.

Additionally there's a bug there that'll be fixed with an upcoming build. This resulted in some ware reservations being counted that shouldn't be.
