Hi,
I've asked the same question in the german sub-forum already but didn't got an answer.
So I'll try again in the more populated english forum:
I'm an X-newbie and unfortunately already struggling with some basics first.
X4 does not recognize my VKB-SIM T-RUDDER MK.IV pedals and is the only game in my collection (mostly flight sims) with this problem.
The pedals don't even show up in the ingame controller mapping (my Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas is recognized without a problem).
I found threads going back to 2017 describing the exact same problem. So it's nothing new and I would have liked to know if a solution can still be expected.
And no, I don't like to change my axis mappings with any tools just to make X4 recognize the pedals...
Thanks for any feedback or helpful tips.

Re: Rudder pedals not recognized
I think you may have excluded the only workarounds found so far using VKB software.
Out of interest only, since the VKB software tool is made available by the relevant rudder device manufacturer, why are you so against using it?
