Reliable crash on screenshot with GOG version 4.00 (433264)
Reliable crash on screenshot with GOG version 4.00 (433264), English Windows. GOG Overlay enabled.
Trying to take screenshots in game reliably crashes the game. On first press of F12 the file 2021-03-22_0016_1.png.tmp is created with a size of 10MB and apparently only filled with NULL bytes. On second hit of F12 the game reliably crashes after freezing for about 5 seconds, another NULL filled .png.tmp file is created.

Do you have any startup options added to the game?sugi wrote: ↑Mon, 22. Mar 21, 00:34Reliable crash on screenshot with GOG version 4.00 (433264), English Windows. GOG Overlay enabled.

Am thinking of the ones that keep the GPU and CPU running.
I had those enabled with my Steam-version and after several screenshot attempts, it froze on mine as well.
Removing the startup-flags solved it for me.

Could you take a look whether a crashdump was generated for you? This page explains how to locate the dump file: https://www.egosoft.com:8444/confluence ... rash+Dumps
If it was, please send it to crash@egosoft.com with the subject set to: "Forum crash - t435301" and we'll pick it up from there.
Note that alternatively try to repro the issue tomorrow. We'll update the detection of known crashes and certain graphics engine issues tonight, so there's a chance that you'll be redirected to a proper troubleshooting page the next time it occurs. In that case, just follow the specific instructions on that page.

Just sent the two crashdumps by email.
I've disabled the GOG overlay curently to avoid risking this crash

Re: Reliable crash on screenshot with GOG version 4.00 (433264)
I can confirm this bug - quite often when I want to pause the game with the 'Pause' key, for some reason I hit one key block too far left aka the F12 key. And then I'd find myself on my desktop with the last half hour or so lost

I am having the same issue since a few months, was able to take screenshots fine until at least Janurary of this year, now crashes near instantly on pressing F12.
Interestingly: a .png.tmp file is created when pressing F12, but is not a functional PNG when .tmp is removed.

Unfortunately a "me too" post with no supporting information, such as the DXDiag and vulkaninfo files requested in the first thread at the top of the forum, isn't even going to tell us whether you have the same problem as the OP (as opposed to just similar symptoms), let alone improve the chances of finding you a solution. Please provide the information requested.
