[Linux/bug] X4 segfaults when using radv/aco

Post by shmerl » Tue, 24. Dec 19, 07:51

When starting the game with Mesa master and aco enabled, it segfaults on startup. With llvm it starts fine (GOG version, 2.60 hotifx 2).

GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT
Debian Linux, kernel 5.5-rc3.
Mesa master.

Enabling aco like this:

Code: Select all

RADV_PERFTEST=aco
The result of launching the game:

Code: Select all

WARNING: Experimental compiler backend enabled. Here be dragons! Incorrect rendering, GPU hangs and/or resets are likely
WARNING: radv is not a conformant vulkan implementation, testing use only.
WARNING: disabling NGG because ACO is used.
'AMD RADV/ACO NAVI10 (LLVM 10.0.0)' AMD-driver v19.99.99 (Vulkan 1.1.107) check=1
./testandlaunch: line 14: 38415 Segmentation fault      ./X4 "$@" 2>&1

I wonder if it's Mesa or game bug. I suspect the later. May be it's parsing the driver name somehow incorrectly?

It's not a Mesa bug. I figured it was caused by me creating vulkan/linux subdirectory workaround for the Mesa overlay Vulkan layer.
