[2.50] Radar Display Panel Bug still present - Workaround for now and fix in a future build.

Post by gregz83 »

The radar display panel does not behave according to the game settings. It basically does what it wants. Off/Separate/Integrated mean nothing.

Edit: Seems to be related to UI scaling. Will test more. Still a bug even if it is because of UI scaling.
Edit 2: Based in testing, I can't say for sure its UI scaling that causes it, but it seems to happen more often when UI is scaled to 1.5 size.

Edit 3: This happens on my 27" 2k G-sync monitor or on a standard 22" 1080p monitor, so monitor size, resolution, and g-sync don't seem to be a cause.

I am poking around in the office to find a "volunteer" to take a look at it.

If it helps here is a series of screenshots to show the problem still happening on 2.50 hotfix 1

Ship this time in a Nemesis - Radar Separate Panel = https://i.imgur.com/atBV14U.png

Go to settings and set Radar Integrated = https://i.imgur.com/d8eZzrq.png

Jumped out of the pilot seat to look around consoles = https://i.imgur.com/fu9P9I7.png

And back in the pilot seat again, no radar display anywhere = https://i.imgur.com/8rOueFY.png

Change the settings again back to Radar Separate Panel = https://i.imgur.com/XUQdbw4.png

Note in that last screenshot the UI Scale for my eyesight is set at 1.2

And the rest of my graphics settings, screen res is at 1360 x 768 = https://i.imgur.com/bzNGMLQ.png

Go back to the pilot seat, and the radar screen which was showing in the first screenshot in a separate panel is still no longer visible = https://i.imgur.com/VsT0jeJ.png

If I now save the game, then exit the game, then load the game again from the latest save just made = The Radar screen comes back again as per first screenshot.

So as others have said it works if you leave it in Separate Panel, but change it to anything else and back again and no Radar until you reload the game.

Thanks for the report. We identified an issue with the setting not correctly being applied and think this should also solve the problem you reported in this thread.

The fix is expected to be shipped in the next beta version (please note that I can't give an ETA on when this will be available atm).

For the time being, the workaround is trigger a UI reload when you change the setting in-game and it doesn't immediately apply (f.e. you can trigger this by changing the in-game resolution or resizing the game window).
