1.20 BUG Cockpit Door Closed Permanently

Version 1.20 English
No mods.
The Young Gun.
Docked at a platform and hired a crew member, returned to ship to go back to the station to put down said hired crew member, Door wouldn't open.
No Relevent changes to hardware or software.

Things I've tried:

• Moving members from one ship to another
• Reassign captain again
• Adding additional crew from other ships
• Removing the entire crew to another ship and re-assigning the captain.
• Fireing all crew
• Re-assinging other crew and captains to the captain spot and trying to walk with them through the door

Someone on reddit has the issue as well and managed to get around the issue by doing the following:
"Fire everyone, crew and pilot etc.. then hired a new one from a dock. Then walked with them to the ship and they got in. from then on it worked again."
However this hasn't worked for me.

I'am able to enter all other ships I own apart from this one. The ship I'am having the issue with is a Gorgon Sential The other ships I own are Elite Vanguard, A second Elite Vanguard that I found abandoned and a Plutus (Mineral) Sentiel.

I have just had this happen twice with the same ship. Both times, the ship had gone into storage while I was on the dock and had to be recalled. Once I waited and used ctrl D and the second time I walked back to the ship and up the ramp and it still happened.

Also just started to experience this issue on two saves now in a Nemesis Vanguard. First started to happen for me after I applied the paint skin received from registering the game. Tried similar things as OP suggested but to no avail.

This happened to me on the eclipse vanguard, but managed to get it open again by teleporting to the ship with shift D and manually undocking and redocking. Door opened when I redocked and and has been fine since.

Thanks for the idea but it doesn't work, problem is still there, doors are stuck.

Devs, could we get a fix on that please? This just ruined my 12+ hours game, I can do nothing, my ship is stuck and I can't pilot it. No way around it... Please, help me get back my 12+ hours!

I've yet to have it happen in the current patch however it happened frequently in the previous one. I'll keep this thread updated if it happens again.

After giving up and reloading to older saves twice, had no issues for another few hours but now my cockpit doors appear to have permanently glitched into the open position. Thankfully this permutation of the issue is not a problem in any way and actually I'm even a little hopeful that being glitched open will prevent them from getting glitched closed again.. Maybe? Will continue monitoring the situation. Hope this gets fixed soon though, losing ships/playtime is no fun.

Edit: Yes this is occurring with 1.21, and fwiw I'm still in a Nemesis Vanguard..

Again, a savegame would help a lot. It's very hard for us to find and fix problems that we can't reproduce.

To add some data, I've had this happen to me once after teleporting into my ship (a Cerberus) while it was being lifted out of a station's internal dock.

Just happened to me as well.

Version 1.21. Ship (Cerberus) had been recalled from deep storage, now I cannot enter the cockpit anymore. Ship docking area exit works fine. I am also no longer able to issue commands to the vessel or to delete the commands it obviously gave to itself (depart from station and cruise around aimlessly).

My gorgon door is permanently closed and I can not teleport to any of my ships.

Just had this happen in the 1.5 patch for the first time ever. Was docked at the Player HQ. The ship was stored, even though there was no traffic. Went to leave and nada, no door would open at cockpit, even though I can see the staff heads talk to icon through the door. Need a crowbar MOD quick, Anyone?

It happened to me in an earlier version - if your ship has a pilot ask them to take off and immediately dock again, it seems reset the door status. In my experience this only happens when you recall a ship from internal storage - it's ramps / steps / etc deploy but the actual doors don't function so you can't access the cockpit / transporter room
