[FIX] Remove 60hz cap on high refresh rate monitors
I ran into this problem and thought I would post the fix here. Evidently something in the settings triggers a change in the monitor properties in windows and alters the desired refresh rate. You need to go to Settings -> System -> Display -> Advanced Display Options (down at the bottom) -> Display adapter properties -> Monitor tab and then reset the screen refresh rate to the desired rate. Enjoy!

I'd say this is a workaround. A fix would prevent the game from messing up the refresh rate to begin with.
Other than that it's good info, the option is hidden quite well in these Windows 10 days.

I am having this issue now too.
Sadly the suggested solution is not working as the instance I go back to the game, the refresh rate is back to 60 hz.
This is very annoying.

Try playing in exclusive fullscreen mode. Windowed mode has to go through the window composition system, even if fullscreen, which is limited by its capabilities.
