would it be a good idea to see organic beasts roaming the galaxy?
Was thinking, would it be a good idea to see organic beasts roaming the galaxy
Re: would it be a good idea to see organic beasts roaming the galaxy?
Well, there are spaceflies I guess.
Generally though I am not a big fan of that sort of thing, even in this kind of relatively soft sci-fi setting. It can easily get a bit too comical.

Critters "flying" around in space? That's just silly. We don't need that....
Except for space dragons. We need space dragons in a bad way. If the Yaki can't have their flamethrower weapons, give'm to the dragons. And make sure their claws ignore shields. And, naturally, if we can defeat a bunch of them and find their nests, we'll be able to raise a few dragons of our own. Feeding them should be a challenge - they don't eat Xenon. Well, maybe some "British" dragons will if you give them Boron at the same time - they like fish & chips.

I may be open to the idea at a later date, but as it is right now I feel like the developers have more pressing matters to deal with. If we did get organic roamers, I would like to see Spaceflies.

This is not for X4, but if you still have X3 Albion Prelude, there is an excellent overhaul mod called XTC (X-Tended Terran Conflict) which has been converted to work with X3AP ..
https://www.nexusmods.com/x3terranconflict/mods/106
.. Among its features are Life forms. IIRC there is a Shivan Dragon occasionaly lurking in the depths of space (dont get too close or you get fried), and I think a giant beetle thing.

Nah, prefer not. I'd imagine it would take just as much work to create space monsters as it would to create new ships. Frankly I'd prefer the devs to focus exclusively on the latter.

The problem with the world of X is the uncontrolled growth of the Universe. There must be elements that respond to this growth. This could be a solution!
