Any chance Mimic could be updated to work with station subordinates?

I tried to do this recently, because I have stations near Avarice and I want only some Tide-capable ships to go inside. So I set the station up not to allow its subordinates in there, and set up a mimic fleet for the subordinates that can go in, so I won't have to change that setting over and over on every individual ship. But it didn't work, they only got the follow command. I guess the manager skill boost would need to flow on from manager to fleet leader to fleet subordinates, but doesn't.
