By that I mean where players can find more and even rarer mod parts after (or during) the battle.
Personally I prefer the Xenon Gate in Ianamus Zura IV. 9 out of 10 times the Teladi have a very strong presence, so I actually don't have to fight the Xenon and the drops are on a mega scale....
What is your favourite Mod Part "Supermarket"?

Pious Mists IV. BUC are patrolling the middle of the asteroid belt constantly so parking a carrier full of interceptors with fire override orders to kill them on sight gets you a huge amount of exceptional ship nanoweaves for purple chassis mods. Any BUC ships that bail also have a high chance to have other purple mods installed.
The gates between Pious Mists II & Pontifex's Claim and Second Contact II & True Sight are great too since ARG, PAR and HOP are constantly fighting there but none of them shoot at your looters. And they drop different loot from Xenon, including secure containers and remote detonators for spacesuit bombs and the occassional pilot seminar.
For Xenon the first gate i cover is generally the one in Hatikvah's Choice I. Not only does it usually have a huge number of Xenon pouring through, it's also an important trade route that i want to secure ASAP.

Duke's Awakening VI has been rather good for me.
Got a scavenger hoovering up salvage right outside the shipyard I built for the Duke during the Paranid plot. There's frequent conflict there between the Duke & PAR forces. I'm on good terms with both sides so my scavenger can operate in complete safety. Best of all it seems the Duke REALLY likes to fit his ships with Exceptional Nanoweave & not far away there's a PAR defence platform (with around 70 L plasma turrets) that he's quite fond sending them to attack...
This is the haul from the last couple of days or so: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0dxiltgo76xpe ... 1.jpg?dl=0

Tharka's Gate in HAT. No worries about police messing with the loot collectors. It does require a solid defense fleet or station and it helps to create an alert for XL Xenon ships so you can deal with them as needed.
Gates for Ryh's and Matrix #598 in Zyarth territory get some action, but not as much as HAT. Police are not an issue in Zyarth sectors either. They'll stop your ships, but Xenon drops are not illegal to them (they are slavers after all).
Pious Mist is a great place to collect the better blue and purple mod parts from BUC. The BUC Prometheus is an amazing ship so I bail them when I can. They often come with good crews so bailing them can be a pain or impossible sometimes. Just blow the stubborn ones up lol.
If you're doing a custom start and can capture Frontier Edge before ANT does that will net an amazing amount of drops. It pretty tough to pull off because the sheer volume of Xenon can be insane at times. If ANT owns Frontier Edge it's a pain because ARG police will constantly hammer your reputation into dust over illegal wares.

Fires of Defeat/Victory.
There's usually at least one station near the gate to the Xenon sector and so far all of them have been generated at gamestart with some serious defence. You can just put a beefy S ship there on repeat orders collect drops and check back in every hour or so and violá, lots of basic modding materials, parts and huge amounts of items needed for black market unlocks (sweet sweet Spacefly Eggs). Added benefit that the Split don't care about any such trifling matters such as illegal wares or whatnot so there's also no danger of losing out on some stuff to overeager police patrols.
Similarily well works Hatikvah's Choice I Xenon gate and Second Contact VII southgate also works, the latter because HOP and ARG+ANT will happily leave behind lots of debris so you can farm those for secure containers.
For exceptional ship nanoweaves in particular I usually put one corvette in Trinity Sanctum VII and hunt down BUC fighters.
