Diplomacy?

Will we ever get 4x style diplomacy? The ability to declare war, make peace with factions in empire mode?

I don't think so, right now the way the game is designed it would be unbalanced, how would you seek peace ? I mean paying with credits that is impossible to balance, factions have unlimited money so they should not care about that and the player can make billions very easy... Maybe create a new diplomatic currency that you would gain with special quests etc...
I'm for having a more dynamic gameplay and allowing more options...

You can declare war via factino relations menu.

As for peace, there is only Xenon/Pirate grind to boost relations or hunting criminal mass traffic, but this takes some time from -20 relations.
