but the non-support of Nvidia cards will make me quit the game
Hows X4 doesn't support Nvidia cards? Does it only run on AMD GPUs? :gruebel:

No DLSS support? What's the reason you've picked the inferior AMD solution over DLSS?
Because FSR runs on both AMD & Nvidia GPUs.

To both.

The game due to the engine runs 40% faster on Nvidia GPUs comparable to equivalent AMD GPUs. Irrelevant if is on Linux or Windows. Is the game engine.

Almost ALL AMD GPU owners playing X4 find ironic from Nvidia users crying about DLSS, Ray Tracing, FSR. Have you seen any AMD owners here writing "non-support of AMD cards, I will quit the game"? Nope and we do have serious perf issue which is unresolved not some nice to have functionality.

And do not forget. When Egosoft implemented in the 4.10 beta FSR even GTX900 owners were celebrating in here as it gave life to their ancient GPUs, let alone GTX1000 users. (my laptop has GTX1060 6GB desktop 5700XT so I count on both groups).

DLSS doesn't run on anything but RTX2000/3000 series, limiting the investment/benefit to a very narrow subset of users while FSR runs on all NV GPUs at least from GTX900 onwards (many run FSR on GTX700s) and AMD 400 onwards including the Ryzen APUs (on Linux at least R9 290/390 too).

That is a very wide user base.

Will the DLC be featuring new audio tracks too ??

Have always enjoyed the X-series compositions ... so very relaxing to listen too :)

Has there been any sign of reverse engineering or otherwise stealing blueprints for ships and equipment? It's kind of... hard to overstate how important I consider this to pirate gameplay.

Reverse engineering ship and equipment blueprints would be even more useful for pirates if you could somehow steal/reverse engineer wharf/shipyard/equipment dock modules.

Obviously whatever method there is should be extremely expensive, and/or difficult, due to the huge cost of the blueprints.

Yeah, that needs to be part of it as well. Adding pirate factions is all well and good but the player is really a faction unto themselves and should not have to ally to someone else in order to act as a pirate. I hope they're adding it in there somehow.

This one is a sure - trailers has new music with guitar (I think for the first time in whole X-series).
The DLCs always come with additional soundtrack to buy, at least on Steam.

Wait! What am i missing here...? I use 4.20(3) and can't see any FSR option in the graphics settings?
Is it a tweak that i have to enable via some .xml or .ini-file?

It was around in the previous beta, I remember trying it for a bit, but it kept giving me weird screen tearing at the time. Maybe it wasn't ready yet.

So looking forward to this, but have reservations about how well it will perform after new factions / ships / stations are added, I am already on the hairy edge of how many ships and stations I can personally own without bringing performance down on the laptop (due to now having to support miners more with patrols and escorts).
Regardless I shall be participating, and probably turning into a pirate :)

But will the games cap of 10000 ships (I think thats correct) per current factions be reduced to say 9000 per faction, to accommodate the extra faction having 9000 of their own?, and keep the X4 game still compliant with its published minimum spec?, or will this DLC have additional machine spec requirements.

Towing will be thing! - Wonder if this mechanic will only apply to scrap from wrecked ships, or have more uses (like a hidden ship / rescue mission similar to something we have experienced before in X3 involving a huge yacht).

Also will recycling wrecks be a permanent removal of the wrecks?, ie can we potentially clear up a sector for better performance of the sector (looking at all the Xenon wreckage around Scale Plate for example), or will it only be killed shipwrecks as opposed to placed shipwreck furniture?, and if its the former would we need to grab Abandoned ships fast before the scrappers beat us to a claim?

Bookmarked, wishlist, notifications engaged .. Plus one for bring back the Boron  :boron:

Edit : Oh and dont forget your anti dodgy paranid spray when going to the bathroom

Thats why they took it back out of the game for the time being.

I would hope it is an interaction with wrecks from killed ships, so that it matters what is going on around us, and does not merely run dry and never matter again—that would be pretty weird and disappointing.

I really do hope that pirates can board player/faction ships in the expansion, maybe even ransom the ship/crew too.

Very much looking forward to it, and hope there's gonna be further DLC after this one too.
“Man, my poor head is battered,” Ed said.

“That explains its unusual shape,” Styanar said, grinning openly now. “Although it does little to illuminate just why your jowls are so flaccid or why you have quite so many chins.”

“I…” Had she just called him fat? “I am just a different species, that’s all.”

“Well nature sure does have a sense of humour then,” Styanar said. “Shall we go inside? It’d not be a good idea for me to be spotted by others.”

Yes it was in game with 4.10 Beta 5 some had issues many didn't and were happy about it.

I definitely need one-eyed captains in my new fleet. Although, perhaps they can have two eyes, but without a leg! :P

Added to my todo list. Definitely eager to check new things.
Thanks!
X4 is not a destination. It's a journey. Unfortunately in a wrong direction.

I saw in the streaming video that when a destroyer was killed, it's wreckage, when selected, indicated and amount of salvageable scrap metal in the bottom right ship info screen, so I am pretty sure that salvaging does apply to ships killed in the game, and not just pre-existing wreckage fields.

Perhaps the pre-existing wreckage fields have very low amounts of actual scrap metal, since you would assume these would have been picked clean of valuable components a while ago?

That's a relief then... harvesting from existing scrap fields would be a bit like just having a different flavour of mining.

I liked the new ships, new interiors! I would like more interactions with the ship inside, and not just decor (especially in a luxury ship). At least sit in a chair)

One of the ship interiors had a swimming pool or was a Boron tank? :gruebel:
