How to center map in current location?

Question in title, is there any quick way to center the map in current location when open, instead of looking for the current ship in the list and double-clicking on it?

Yes, if you select the ship or station you want to centre the map to just press comma (,) and it will. If it is a ship it will follow the ship too until you move the map manually somewhere else.

If, as I think you do, you want to centre the map on the current player-occupied ship then just press the r key. There's no need to select anything for that.
