Please make plot messages non-interruptable

How many times have you done some important plot combat mission, and in the middle of the npc dialogue that follows, it gets interrupted by "thanks for your help, here's a little something as thanks."

Well no thanks for your interruption! Can't those messages be marked so the ai won't interrupt these plot messages?

Nahhhh... that would made the plots all too clear. And that is certainly non Egosoft from the get go (XBTF)...

yes, that would be nice. didn't happen too often in my game but terraforming "updates" being cut off had me reloading a quicksave a few times.

funny thing: the inbound "thanks for your help communication" IS uninterruptable.. :lol:

Well, I'd rather have this than the opposite.

I remember in XR there was a cutscene where your copilot would talk to you for something like 30 seconds where you would lose control of your ship. This would happen in a superhighway where some enemies would wait for you at the exit of the highway. That was all well and good until they boosted the speed of the superhighway until travel would be nearly instantaneous, as they are right now in X4. So you were in a situation where you had no control on your ship, but enemies were hammering at you for 20-25 seconds straight which usually ended as a game over before you even got back in control. Fun times.


But yeah, back at OP, I do think regular comms should be disabled when we get plot-related messages.
On the same aspect, plot-related messages should be skippable as well. The "faction promotion" banter gets a bit repetitive after a while. :)

I rather to had this message to let me know what going on, since I'm deaf and I rather know about it rather than blind in the dark, unsure whatever action of player is useful or not.

I would not mind if there was an option to pause time during such story/lore heavy dialogs. Nothing worse than speaking to the Yaki leader in person to listen to what they have to say and then receive "something hit us" warning from a ship parked by a Xenon gate while she slowly talks...

I often did that on purpose.
When I knew long texts where coming I shot a criminal drone down before they start talking. :lol:
It speeds the game a bit faster.

Some dialogs are way to long especially when boso talks.

Actually I have stepped over an even bigger issue: Two important missions texts, the second cancelling the first while it's still on... Like Boso Ta or Dal Busta calling you to chat while you receive instructions from Terran Intelligence :? :? :?

I cam across a situation where the plot messages all in different order.
I reloaded my game to see if it would happen again so i could make report about it but it didnt happen another time and I couldnt dubplicate it either.

But my gues is, it has something to do with the interuptions.

Yup, I don't even get to listen to most of the Cradle of Humanity DLC dialogue's because it gets interrupted by AI giving me creds for kills from the battle that just happened two seconds ago. No idea why this stuff isn't non interruptable when there is so much happening all the time especially after missions.

I think it would be better if the dialogues were all interruptible, and the text would be recorded in the mail message.

It would make a lot of sense if the mission (plot) dialogues were saved as log... I don't think this is a difficult think to fix since it is text already (in the translation). That said another good option would be to disable all these "Thank you" messages from the general options menu. They may be of some significance in the very beginning of the game but they become just an annoyance very soon...
