[Request] Required two very small QOL

Post by -=SiR KiLLaLoT=- » Fri, 17. Sep 21, 01:39

Hello people!

I have two small requests for the Devs:

The first concerns the modification/repair of ships.
I sequence three screenshots to easily explain what I mean.

Before modification
During modification
After modification

I think it's a simple feature to implement to give you the ability to keep track of the last modified ship on the list.
Referencing the latest ship ID number isn't as easy as tracking a color. I'm sure the change will please many 8)
After all, I am not asking for the possibility of having a multi-selection in the list and the possibility of the game
to understand how many and which ships selected are compatible for mass modification.
I am well aware that a change of this type can take a long time
The second concerns the damn notification in case of ship loss.
Please, in my current game I have decided not to lose even one of my 1000 ships because each of them has crews fully skilled in a completely manual way and I don't want to lose them.
Not knowing when my ship dies forces me to reload dozens and dozens of times because I realize after 10, 15 minutes that I have lost that crew, making the gameplay very frustrating.
I've been going on like this for 500 hours and it's not good.
So, again, please implement something that can instantly notify you that a ship is dead, in order to reduce the time lost in situations like mine.
From what I could understand, one of the most effective things, would be the ability to activate a notification sound like the one already in the game to report something.
You can hear that sound in any menu in the game, be it the map, the build editor, or your entire crew list.
Implementing such a sound when there is written output in the log messages would be a dream.

Thanks for the attention

KiLLa

The idea of changing the text color and highlight makes sense. Good idea.

Also, having the ability to apply a saved loadout to multiple ships of the same model at once would help as well.

How I see if any ships have been destroyed is by going to the activity log and filtering by "destroyed". Not the best method but it's better than scrolling for red text.

I have used this method forever, but after 350+ game reloads I am a bit bored

It is important that the communication of the event is shown in some way on the screen.
But I believe that a sound is the best method because, in the late game, X4 is often played in the background while on windows you do other things.

For example, you could also use the suggestion window that can be displayed in each menu and in case of more ships destroyed,
it would also indicate the number of events using the arrow to change the page, as I have already seen in other situations.

However, a separate tab for destroyed ships would be great

Sort of off topic but related idea:

I personally like to monitor my fleets in realtime so I can intervene and save the asset if possible. As the fleet starts to grow this gets difficult.

A big help would be an asset list that is visible in both 3D and map views which only shows assets not at 100% health and 100% shield. Shield and health status should be super easy to read at a glance. Display warning indicators for offline engines/shields/turrets for capital ships. If I click on the asset in that list it should open the map (if not already open), center on, and highlight the asset in the left panel.

I had already suggested adding this. It would be identical to one of the existing filters, such as inventory ships or unassigned ships. How long does it cost to add filtered menus with items with <100% hulls and shields?

Yeah, I agree easier access to information is always a good thing

But also I think you guys just need to embrace the fact that some stuff is gonna get destroyed, it’s not a bad thing having to replace ships… It’s just the cost of business

THIS!

I spend most of my game time (when not in personal combat) on the map screen. This would be great!

An extra tab for destroyed ships would be nice as well.

I would like it if there was a button to roll out a modification to similar selected ships (same loadout or even just same hull). Currently to apply an upgrade to a series of ships you need to order modifications for each one individually, even if you selected all of them and all the ships are the same. Currently if you own hundreds of ships that need upgrading, such as when you are initially growing, then this can really become a wrist hurter.
