More generic build items?

More generic build items?
General question/suggestion: is there any chance we can look forward to more generic build items? The cross sections, rectangles etc. are great but how about some curved shapes for example? I really appreciate the Terran stuff giving us more circular options but other shapes would be great!
Re: More generic build items?
When (and only when) bugfixing is finished, then I suppose we can ask for more stuff. Doing otherwise just wastes our time debating it at best and, at worst, distracting the devs of their serious tasks to do even only for paying any attention to our suggestions and putting them either on the shelf (for later) or the waste basket.
That said, the Argon and Teladi should be having equivalents of the Paranid crosses from the get go, while the Split Cross is something "different" as it is triangular instead of "square" acting like the Paranid "Y" cross...

Respectfully, since Ego has managed to develop the X series for over two decades, I’m pretty confident in their ability to prioritise their own work including bug fixes and/or picking up suggestions on the forum. There’s no need for us to presuppose what they can/can’t do. None of us has desks at Ego HQ. Part of the point here is to discuss new ideas or things we’d like to see.
Thanks for the reply and comments though. I agree with regard to the Paranid cross and it does make sense that certain species would prefer, certain connectors. The Paranid Y fits nicely in their cultural philosophy of threes (tri). But, I think it would be really lovely for the players just have a few more toys for building. Right now, the aesthetics the player use will mirror the other species in some fashion. It would be nice if there were options (even just a few) for the player to put their aesthetic spin on stations they design. I kinda love designs with flowing curves, lends itself nicely to elegant space station designs.

Of course they can and they do prioritise... but doesn't that means somebody has to stop, read, think and then decide on his next course of action? It's not a matter of this choice will go the wrong way with the devs... Just trying to save some time in the long and tasking procedure of bugfixing. The community is filled with ideas at any given time (it's probably part of what makes an X Universe player), but personally I can't wait for the bugs to be fixed...Y-llian wrote: ↑Mon, 13. I hope you don’t take what I’m going to say as unkind or disrespectful dt. But Ego has created this forum to engage with the community and so, they’ve already committed to ‘stop, read, think’ through our glorious, crazy, left field ideas. By your logic we should just stop proposing stuff until such time the game is so-called bug “free” - which is itself a nebulous proposition because there are true bugs (things that are broken) and things that might not work as we’d prefer (or misdiagnosed by us as bugs) but nevertheless function as designed. None of this is in our control and at best, all we can do is highlight issues as we see them, help (if we have time) to test and wait to see what happens. I really don’t feel we need to act like Ego’s time managers or curtail discussion amongst ourselves. I hope you can see where I’m coming from.dtpsprt wrote: ↑Mon, 13. Sep 21, 16:22

Ok, so with that said. Maybe, there’s some burning generic module you’ve always wanted? Tell me what they are?
Re: More generic build items?
What nobody asked for: Curved horizontal space extensions (no faction has them) that would allow a curved feel on a station instead of the "boxy" angular that is prevailing everywhere... They should "allow" for 4 or 8 of them to form a perfect cycle...
