I've updated the Accessibility Features mod:

Updates:
v4.1.0, 18 Sep 2021:
- Recommendation: I recommend that my Loot Mining mod and my Surface Element Targeting mod are disabled for now because I found that they were the causes, along with Accessibility Features, of the active mission getting deactivated when using the Navigation Computer. I'll release a fix for them in a few days.
- Recommendation: Get the new version of Accept Mission For Later mod if you have that installed: https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/590.
- Bug-fix: Autopilot doesn't deactivate active mission.
- Bug-fix: Conversing with ANY NPC at stations will move you to them - allowing any cutscenes that need to play to continue. I.e. You shouldn't get any video comms when conversing with NPCs at stations.
- Bug-fix: The AI doesn't take the controls when you ask them to.
- Bug-fix: Expired missions offers are not listed.
- New feature: Command panel for ongoing missions: Activate, Show Briefing.
- New feature: Data vaults are listed as stations. Undiscovered data vaults are listed as unknown objects.
- New feature: Signal leaks of data vaults are not listed until all repair panels are fixed.

Stop your engines (default key backspace) to take your ship off it.
- Bug-fix: Sometimes the active mission wasn't getting listed as the active mission.
- Tweak: Do not double-up the NPC's title with their role/job.

Wow kuertee you're a magician! looks like you've spend lots of time to fix all those issues. I'll be playing this game for many hours because of this mod.
I didn't understand the Missions in undiscovered sectors part, but once i install the mod and play i'm sure i'll figure it out,

Hi there
I seem to have many issues with the mod now, i have updated the ui extension mod, accept mission for later and the accessibility mod. here are the issues
1. The mod hiring UI will not come up anymore once you click on hire to hire an npc, or if you click on "work somewhere else for me"
2. I still have the old issue of the captain not coming to take the controls. when i click on "let X take the controls" They will not walk to the controls. If i open the mod and look at points of interests or objects in space, it says invalid actions. perhaps because there's noone at the captain's seat? i am not sure.
3. unable to talk to some npcs. perhaps those are that are in tricky positions in the station? once i click on talk nothing happens.
4. Once i set a guidance marker, my mission goes inactive. I think with most of missions it's not needed to set guidance markers, but i was doing a "destroy mass traffic mission" and i had to chase and destroy enemy civilian ships. as soon as i set my guidance marker on them, my mission would go inactive.

on the good side, i repaired and looted a data vault perfectly, and auto piloting to unknown gates and highways seem to work perfectly now

edit: I have a question regarding issue 4. can i actually progress ongoing missions? As in, if a mission is ongoing, does it mean that pirates and mass traffic will spawn and i can destroy them to progress the missions? if so then i think that won't be a problem

Hey,

Just writing to chime in to say that my experiences are similar to Oasis1701. To be more specific, when I hire someone the default hiring UI comes up, rather than the mod's version. Also, AI pilots continue to behave as they did in the earlier version, that is, get stuck somewhere in the middle and refuse to take control of the ship on command.

Hope whatever happened here has a simple fix. Thanks for your continued work on this.

Hi, thanks for the feedback.
And sorry for breaking the hire/work elsewhere functions.
I've fixed them already.

I had hoped that resetting the ai pilot's state (which I didn't do in the older version) before sending the command for him to retake his post would work.
Obviously, it didn't.
But I still wasn't experiencing what you guys described.
Anyway, I have another possible solution. But I'm unsure of it yet.

I'll release another version later today.

4.1 base dropping last week wasn't really a good time. It added another bowling pin that's in the air. Hahaha!

Ok, I've updated the mod with bug-fixes.
There were definitely bugs in hiring new captains.
But I missed some of them because I know what is happening and can see them on the screen.
In this version, I added audio cues. It's described below.
Anyway, I hope this fixes that bug.

- New feature: Audio cues. After selecting a command from the Navigation Computer, audio cues play to signal: command in progress (every 2 seconds), command completed, command failed. The audio cue for failure is rare but it can occur. E.g.: when the docking request times out at 30 secounds, or when the dock has been unassigned during the docking process. And Some commands complete almost immediately, and the audio cue may be interrupted by other sounds from the game.
- Tweak: After hiring a new captain, the NPC will be teleported immediately to the ship when you re-enter the ship.
- Tweak: Enter/exit controls of a ship.
- Note: Talking to NPCs and entering/exiting the controls of the ship generally take a few steps as the mod needs to wait for you or the NPC to get to certain states (e.g. a position in the game world) before the command process can progress.
- Note: If a command process is taking too long, you can re-open the Navigation Computer and retry the same command. If the same command never completes, it may be best to leave it for now.

@kuertee looks like all the bugs regarding the AI captain is fixed as well teleporting to npcs that are in tricky positions. I was playing a bit today and I could talk to all the npcs that I wanted. thanks!

some small issues remaining for me:
1. regarding The actions window, the OCR seems to not like this window very much. any ideas why? sometimes it can't read all the options and sometimes it even does not read one of the options. could it be because the text is small? I have set my ui scale to 1.5 by the way. Here's an example of one:

Yeah, I see now what you mean.

To clarify on how the Navigation Computer decides to create a Guidance Mission - which will make it the active mission:
And this only applies to when you use the autopilot from the Navigation Computer.
1. When you autopilot to a NON-MISSION TARGET by selecting a destination that is not in the Mission Target category, the Navigation Computer will create a Guidance Mission to your new destination - which will activate this Guidance Mission as your new active mission. You can only have one active mission.
2. When you autopilot to a MISSION TARGET by selecting a destination that IS in the Mission Target category, the Navigation Computer will keep your active mission. This is true regardless of how many gates you have to cross.

I coded it this way because that is how it plays out.
To use the autopilot, we (the visually unimpaired) need to set a Guidance Marker - deactivating the active mission.

But you don't have to worry: You don't need the mission to be active to complete it.
Activating a mission is only useful to set a destination for the autopilot.
Ongoing missions will complete regardless of whether they are active or not.

i set the background to be pure black. they were semi-transparent before (out of habit).
and i noticed that 4.1 semi-transparency is slightly more transparent.

IT looks pretty good now;however, the first letter of each option is not being detected, like this:

Coo. I'll add thicker borders on the left and right sides to address that problem.
I'll release the next version with this fix on Nexusmods tomorrow night. it's 3am here. zzzz.

If you want a quick fix before then, you can add a space in front of all the commands by editing the language file.
It's only an XML file and contains the text that the mod uses.
The Nav Com commands are in entries numbered 1001 to 1022 and start at line 15 of the text file.
(The rest of the text is used to build the other parts of the Nav Com. E.g. headings, etc.)

The file is located in this folder: game folder\extensions\kuertee_accessibility_features\t\0001.xml

- Bug fix: NVAccess OCR skipping a line: This was caused by the line having a blue-coloured background - caused by the mouse cursor being on it or by a category being highlighted because it was active. Fix 1: is to move the mouse to the bottom-right edge of the screen when the window is opened or refreshed. Fix 2: Made all lines, regardless of whether they were buttons or just straight text to have a black background. Fix 3: Made the background of Navigation Computer window opaque black - rather than transparent.
- New feature: Pagination. The scrollbar is removed from the Navigation Computer. In its place are pagination controls. In this version of the mod, the Navigation Computer lists only 15 entries at a time - not counting titles and sub-titles.



Sorry for this delay. RL work dropped during the week, and pushed all my gaming and modding time to the bottom of my "to-do stack".
I really want to start the mod's next features: ship purchasing/configuring, and then station purchasing/configuring.
But I can't promise a timeline for them. I'm taking a slower-paced with my gaming and mods for about a week or two. I'm a bit burnt out. Hahaha!

But feel free to post your comments and feedback with this mod.
And I'll address any that I can quickly fix or change.

wow. the last version didn't work! i totally missed the bug. a couple of players on nexus mod reported the mod not working in the last few days.
i apologise for leaving it broken for so long.

here's the new version. there's nothing really new, except that the features (pagination, better OCR support) from the previous version should now work.
i returned back to modding in the last week or two - but still very slowly; so this version still doesn't have the buy ship and buy station UIs.
i'll get to them eventually. i can't promise a timeline still, unfortunately.

had a suggestion request
1. Now that the categories have their own page, can there be a page for ships and another page for stations? this will clean up the objects in space page, and it will be easier to find stations and ships without having to go through other objects and the objects in space can have the vaults, asteroids and other things.
2. can there be an indication in the ship list when there's a hostile ship? i can usually find them by pressing the E key, but if i have a pilot flying for me, i can't do that so i have to select the hostile ship from the computer; sometimes it's tough to figure out which one is hostile.

Now that the categories have their own page, can there be a page for ships and another page for stations? this will clean up the objects in space page, and it will be easier to find stations and ships without having to go through other objects and the objects in space can have the vaults, asteroids and other things.

Hi there

Do we need to complete the player hq story to be able to make stations?
if so do you think it's possible to make the accessibility mod compatible with the story?
