Mission "Secure Resources" : can't sell to any stations.

Hi! I'm new to the game (first playthrough, already 50 hours but going at a snail pace), and not sure if I'm doing the mission correctly or not.

The mission "Secure Resources" (ARG) requires to bring various wares to any station in Hatikvah's Choice III. Once there (I have my ship and another ship in the sector), none of the stations is actually accepting to buy my cargo (currently having "Advanced Electronics" in cargo hold).

Did I miss something?

I believe you are doing it right. Hmmm, could there be a station in the sector that you don't know about?

Was this mission requested recently, or has it been waiting for 10+ hours?

Have you set your trade filter for Advanced Electronics and checked the sector.
The compoents requested suggest a station upgrade.

Good question! I wasn't sure so I did a long range scan around the initial hex fog of war and there were some stations largely "outside" the initial hex size. Still none of them is accepting to buy the demanded goods.

The mission probably popped just a few minutes before I accepted it, since I was waiting for a mission to pop at the time I accepted it. I'd say It has now been ~ an hour since I accepted it.

Yep, the trade filter doesn't show any station in the sector is accepting the required goods.

Since I'm a beginner, I tried to right click all of the stations and see if they also accepted the wares for "Trade Offers - Build Storage" (rather than the "normal" trade) but that doesn't work either.

Advanced Electronics is primarily used to assemble turrets: https://roguey.co.uk/x4/wares/advancedelectronics/
As such, you sell them to Shipyards, Wharfs, Equipment Docks, and station Build Storage.
Only the last seems feasible in HC3.

To see ware buy offer at station does require three things:
1. The station consumes the ware
2. The station's storage quota for the ware is not full
3. You have current trade data

The last you can get by flying past stations, etc. The first, does the NPC have any stations under construction?

If there are stations that do have turrets and those turrets get destroyed, then they might need resources to rebuild/fix the turrets. Alas, if you destroy the turrets, then spelling spare parts has a different obstacle.

Stations have Build Storage. It cannot be targeted, but you can shoot at the reddish containers. That releases wares from the Storage. Such demolition might cause less loss of reputation. Obviously, this would help, if the station is still assembling turrets and thus still about to get Adv.El. from its Build Storage.

However, does the mission count Build Storage as "any Station"?

In my games there often is an Equipment Dock in HC3, far east of the Gate, IIRC.

There is not always sufficient demand to complete these types of missions immediately. If I do them, I usually set up a small courier with a repeat order, so I can do something else.

The question is then, how to make the ED consume its current stock to create demand?

Well, if you find one, you can use hack software on its storage and dump it out.

Actually, I've never hacked any of the "big icon" station types. Do ALL their wares dump out when you hit them??

(Selling to build storage is a really interesting idea. I wonder if it would work? Definitely save game before trying.)
