I wonder why earth wasn't shown. Maybe the Torus is back or something similar?
You see both Torus wreck and Earth (all fine):

Thanks, I was looking for something with a bit more bright green and blue. That screenshot was reminiscent of Omicron Lyrae in Rebirth at first glance.

No Descriptions is a good description - Egosoft 2018-2020

I'm starting to to think that "asymetric fighter" might actually be ATF fighter:
https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/a ... 1598515434
while the "odd-Yaki looking fighter" and wide wings fighter are USC:
https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/a ... 1598515434
https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/a ... 1598515434

The fun thing is that "wide wing" fighter looks a bit like ATF Verdandi from Cadius X3 mod:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f75/c ... /Cad35.jpg

The Terran destroyer looks kinda like mini-Kyoto from X3:
https://youtu.be/__973uiwrkY?t=345

I also must retract that initialy trailer music was so-so to me, but after several replays it actualy grow on me and I find it suprisingly deep and relaxing.

OMG - O REALLY HOPE THIS IS A WIP, because I see Terran fighter shooting pulse laser:

The new engine capability for volumetric fog is stunning.

Trailer was so-so.
Too much time wasted on aqueduct showing the fog effect, plus the music was also so-so:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nRg5mA5OWc

The good:
0:33 - Terran asymetric fighter
0:40 - Terran destroyer (4 large turret spot and one S-landing pad - rather bog standard copy/paste of Split destroyer)
1:15 - Terran wide wing fighter (looks rather odd - the wings stand out too much for a space fighter and even have to fold before landing)
1:33 - Terran "covered" hangar (best thing in the trailer) and fold wing landing

The reveal trailer just aired over IGN's livestream. The soundtrack on that was awesome, I gotta say. And it looks great! Variable geometry ships (example of the one landing in the station), as well as the cavernous station hangar? Yes pleaaaaaase!
Variable geometry is already in vanilla, but not user - Star Wars mod for X4 is using it already.
the music was awesome
Fixed ships getting spawned away from ship configuration menu at resupply ships from automatically getting deployables.

While the new ships, station interiors and music they showed off in the trailer were nice...the trailer really fails at giving us some "drama"...it was really quite boring in terms of what is going on.

But while I don't look forward to Terrans since they are my least favorite faction...I'll be happy with a new pirate faction and the good stuff from patch 4.0...and maybe X4:Terran Confl....errrr Cradle of Humanity has some decent story.

P.S. Initial trailer reaction on the stream seemed to be pretty bad from anyone that didn't know X4 already. Neither the economy side nor the combat side of the game were shown off enough to give people some impression about its' strengths. Personally I think the trailers could need some more Khazaam (I dont even mean pew pew) to draw the interest of non-X veterans.

The Trailer reminded me of the X4:Foundation Announcement Trailer overall a few improvements namely gamestarts/scenarios and and the hull part example to indicate economy shortages are to be expected.

I want that Detailed Encyclopdia but I don't believe I'm going to get it.

The volumetric fog looks awesome, is it going to get applied to old sectors too? Whats the performance impact? The possibilities to add much needed variety to the current sectors is incredibly exciting, I hope its well optimised.

And what exactly am I seeing with this npc https://youtu.be/__973uiwrkY?t=147
I cant help but link the weird npc with the new terraforming mechanic ;p Maybe im going off on a wild tangent but could the xenon go mental and start cyborging everyone and everything.

???
The reaction for all the games were bad. It was just a bad stream in general.
All the indie games got the same L, Bad, sleeping emote.

Nothing is impressive about the trailer. The ship designs are meh, the content of the trailer are meh.

I am more interested in the 4.0 update than the DLC.

If ATF and Terran will have the same ships then I am sure as hell not going to buy this dlc

I suspect some of the main ships were not shown. Specifically XL ships seemed lacking. Would be nice to have an actual XL battlecruiser, and not a glass cannon carrier hybrid.

At this point do we have to assume the encyclopedia issue has to be around cost to translate a bunch of text well? I mean they spent all that time working on the encyclopedia ship comparison tool which is pretty damn cool. So its not like they aren't prioritizing the encyclopedia features.

A lot of X music is like that though. I assume its because its all very low key music meant to enhance the sandbox mood, and not drive the actual game play.

The more I examine the trailer, the more I doubt my initial thought that the Tokyo-shaped ship is actually a carrier. Its size compared to its engine indicates that it is no larger than the rest of the carriers in the game (except for the Raptor and Monitor). Also the blue cargo containers present on its hull might indicate that it's not a combat ship. Interestingly though, there are 8 L-sized turret slots on it

The Kyoto-shaped destroyer seems to have 4 L turret slots which would put it on par with the Odysseus, except that it seems to be slightly smaller in size than the Rattlesnake (I use the S dock as comparison)

One thing to keep in mind is that the first Split Vendetta trailer also didn't feature the Raptor, so chances are that the actual Tokyo has not been revealed yet

For me Tokyo was first thing that came to my mind, but cargo containers pushed me towards Mobile Minning Base Ship which is very similar to Tokyo. There is no visible large turret ports and only one Small landing pad.
You see the size of that ship in second "gameplay" fottage, where fighter land on it:
https://youtu.be/__973uiwrkY?t=85

I think this is L or LX miner (too few containers for freighter) for Terran.

One interesting thing I noticed - that big Terran landing dock seems to be 4M8S or maybe 4M10S dock.
It possible that this is "Small" dock and they have bigger one for Wharf dock :)

I growing fond on that asymetric fighter - it seems to have 3 gun port in (1 left, 2 right) cofiguration.
The silver/metalic hull stands out from two other fighters red/white hull, giving me hope that ATF will be present in the game (I hope someoen will ask about it on reddit AMA).
Having two full ships sets in one DLC might be way too much for Egosoft.
However if they plan to release it in Decemeber 2020 then the footage still looks like early wip. I think this will be delayed to Q1 2021.
I'm araid that ATF might get reduced to 2 or 3 unique ship, rather than full shipset. Just like Free Families in Split Vendetta.

Edit:
Actually srapt that - in might be that white/red hull is just a paint mod - if all 3 fighters would be in one color, then they don't stand out from each other as much, so the asymetric fighter doesn't have to be an ATF, or ATF will use the same ships but with different paint mod.
