Kyon Crystal

Anyone found one of these? its worth 80k but can't seem to sell it and it isnt illegal. Dont need the cash, just curious, a quick google search didnt tell me anything. The encyclopedia tells me a little, its a Kha'ak beam weapon component, wonder if its for a future part of the game?

i found around 5 of these, i never thought about selling them (as dear memory of using kyon emitters myself)..

but they really have no use? not even sell?

maybe there do is hope for some khaak weaponary/ships ...

It's funny that this is the only topic about kyon crystals and there are no new messages since the game's release.
I went to the SCA pirate base but the traders won't buy it

A nice touch would be if enough kyon crystals could be combined with other inventory stuff to make a Kha'ak base detector that indicates when such a base is in-sector and within the max distance of [to be decided] km of the player's personal ship. No guidance though, and just a thought. (I suppose a UFO base detector is out of the question? )

It would be neat to see a return of the UFOs and also very rare spacefly sightings. I still have my screenshot of the only spacefly I ever saw in x 3 in 1,500 hours of playtime, somewhere on my hard drive.

I like that idea, let's hope Egosoft will do something with it eventually.

When I first found one (I seem to collect several every game) I thought it might be a component for an Exceptional Mod. But no. Like the Security Bypass System, it has no use other than to get players to carry them around hoping to find that special place to sell them. Now I just store them in my PHQ vault.

I have about 8 of them in my inventory, was hoping one day to find what they could be used for but so far nothing.
Back of my head says they have something to do with Kha'ak weapons (from previous X games) ..
.. but no way to make them in X4.

I made that mistake too, can't sell the extra SETA. Maybe you can drop it and destroy it? I'm a bit OCD on having a clean inventory.

https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/821 there's a very recent mod for that. It's what made me do a hunt to search for how to flog kyon crystals too. I've got 452 of them burning up in my inventory, that's 36mil I could spend on booze and hookers vital spaceship components.
