Saitek X52 Profile [Game and Saitek/Logitech Software] *Map image included*

Post by dreatern » Mon, 3. Dec 18, 23:38

This is the map I use to play X4, I'm sharing here because there are people with difficulty to setup.
Friendly map for Elite Dangerous players (Flight and Menu navigation)

Feel free to adjust to your liking if you want, use as a starting point.

It is recommended that you install the driver and software for your system to be able to load the X4 Foundations profile and use the Pinkie Switch
https://support.logitech.com/en_us/prod ... /downloads

Probably compatible with the Saitek X52 Pro, I'm not sure...

Profiles download Link:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/acfccny3xfwfb ... 2.zip?dl=0

Inside you can find the file:
--- inputmap_5.xml (GAME PROFILE Named Saitek X52 Plus)
you need to put the file inside the \Documents\Egosoft\X4\XXXXXXXX (XXXXXXXX = the save number)
It will add the profile to the custom slot 5, if you have something there, change the number of the file name to the free slot 1,2,3 or 4.

Image
---X4 Foundations.pr0 (SAITEK SOFTWARE Profile)
Save anywhere, PREFERABLY INSIDE THE DEFAULT PROFILE FOLDER.
Open the profile editor and there you can load the file and apply to the HOTAS.
You can also change whatever you want and save your custom profile. (attention to the key used for push to talk)

The game has a problem if it the gamepad is set to controller/joystick, if your something drift, set it to off
Also set the adaptive steering off

You can also change the mouse nub deadzone to maximum

Mouse and keyboard are still required Because the game has complex menus. It is possible to navigate the menus with this map but it is much faster to navigate and control things on the map and ground with mouse and keyboard.

Thank you for the added image Dreatern! Gave me some ideas to optimise my own current Saitek X52 pro setup.

Do you also use rudder pedals? I use them for strafing left/right (pedal rotation) and up/down (toe breaks).

If anyone is interested in a profile with pedals I can upload mine here as well.

Question: How did you setup the "+" option? Such as pinkie trigger + POV button? I tried to get my main fire button mapped to "trigger + safe button" but it didn't work at all.

I really enjoy flipping that safe button before blasting pirate ships into outer space. :D

The only way to use the pinkie switch with pov direction or any other button combination is using the HOTAS software to create a profile and load it.
You can download and use the one here to see how it was made and change to the way you want

Seems like the Saitek Profile isn't compatible with the X52 Pro, it looks completely empty and POV controls don't work like expected (Pinkie + any POV does nothing, POV mappings mixed up).
Would be nice if you explained what you did so I can recreate it.

Another person with X52 Pro was able to use this profile without problem

Even if it does not work, you can open the profile and see the programming, it is easy to replicate. The software is the same for both, also the buttons and position.

Open the profile in the profile editor, try to create a new profile replicating the programming
**The little blue target button is the one that send the profile to the HOTAS memory, the one that load the profile**

i had similar problem when loading profile it was blank, i had saved it to my logitek directory too, but it looked blank, i reloaded from the download and then i saw it was working. (If loaded correctly, you should only see the 2 columns.)

After a few changes and additions to my own taste, it is working well now.

Do you have the saitek driver and software installed? Are you loading the profile (not the game profile but the HOTAS profile)?
You can't use the pinkie switch without it, the game does not recognize and will never work without it.

a common mistake for the pinkie not working is the clutch, if you go into device settings, and properties for the x52, under the mfd tab, you can untick the box for enable clutch, then try again.

Thanks, looking forward to busting out my X52 for this, worked wonders in X3.

One question though, that a fellow X52 user might know....

That little round connector cable that goes from throttle to stick... connecting the two....
Any Idea where a fella might be able to order a replacement?

I can't find them anywhere and I've been looking for a long time.
I dont exactly know what to call the cable either, so that doesn't help much either.

At any rate, I have bookmarked this post and will return once I find my cable.
Nice post and Thank you! :D

Yes, the saitek driver and software were installed and the enabled clutch was untick.

I find what was the problem, the profile wasn't loading properly and the created profil or the exported one needed to be in the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Logitech§\X52\ to work :P

I should read dreatern first post when he said :
" ---X4 Foundations.pr0 (SAITEK SOFTWARE Profile)
Save anywhere, PREFERABLY INSIDE THE DEFAULT PROFILE FOLDER."

for me preferably mean " has to be inside the default profile folder "

Thanks for the help

I don't really know, but the connection looks like the old keyboard\mouse ps2 cable to me, maybe hotwire one to your cable.

OK, found out what the problem was, the .pr0 file has separate profiles for different controllers.
I modified it to also work with the X52 Pro.

Here's the file if anyone's interested:
