There's another forum style you can select in your profile, DaMuncha, which has dark blue headers on a white background--you may prefer it (I certainly do). Only problem is that it'll only switch to that style when you log in, you get amber screen up until that point.

I guess I like the look, though the dark yellow headers are a little hard to read against the black.
Can I change the colors of the forum? When I was unlogged it was black-yellow, and when I logged in it changed to white-blue.

Edit: NVM, I found it.

I guess I'm going to be "that" guy... What's the purpose of highlighting the background under the mouse in topic list, if clicking it doesn't do anything? I mean, you still need to mouse over to actual topic name, which will have it's own emphasis when mouse is over it, so... why?

Disclaimer: highlighting implies interaction. There's no interaction capability at the moment for that particular case.

Well one thing, at the very least, that the highlighting does is allow you to easily connect the left-hand-side data to the right-hand-side data without your eyes accidentally going up or down a row if there happens to be a large gap between them. Useful if you're running your browser as a full screen. Personally I didn't get the impression from the highlighting that it was intended to be interacted with, but I can see how someone would. I like it, regardless of whether I can click it, but it could still be an interesting thing to explore.

Fair enough, we'll take that feedback under advisement. Thanks!

Even though he is right, it is still convenient but it seems the highlighting doesn't work well with a touchpad on a notebook under Windows 10. When scrolling the mouse disappears and leaves the background highlighted. After some scrolling around multiple topics keep being highlighted. It is a very tiny cosmetic problem only, though.

I like the new look very much :D

New forum looks great. Took a few minutes to get used to the brighter yellow though ;)

@jeka1900: Maybe the next forum upgrade then? :P
Save game editor XR and CAT/DAT Extractor
Keep in mind that it's still a work in progress although it's taking shape nicely.

If anyone is interested in a new save game editor for X4 and would like to contribute to the creation of one let me know. I do not have sufficient time to create it alone, but if there are enough people who want it and want to contribute we might be able to set something up.

Browsing the forum on a phone (Android), and it's an improvement in very way I can think of.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

We decided to not release a trailer for the new forum, and make a surprise release instead. There was a little heads-up from BurnIt! though.

Hmm... maybe we need a separate topic for observations?

That's a very strange reaction to a joke. Especially to one that is so obvious, if you talk about a trailer in the forum update topic. ;) An update some of us have been waiting for for about ten years (or less).

Also, I thought we established already that it's not a good idea to release a trailer and announce the release date, thus drawing more attention to the forum, while the forum is still being updated, and may not run as stable as it needs to be.

Sarcasm does not translate well over the internet.

An issue for me is that the page number for the threads is over to the right and not under the topic link, leading me to assume there was no pages for the topic untill I realized the page numbers were waaaaaaaay over to the right side of the screen.
Just... another... bug.
